Doesn't matter what you change the rules too. People will always find a way to grief scrubs like heartbrand/fishbait2.0guilds. Be it on a level 60 toon or a level 51-55'd toon with level 60 buffs. No amount of jew tears will change this. Rallos Zek had 4 level protections put in place and what resulted was a very active 45-55 pvp base that skirted the 60's and answered to no one.
Sad to say but most of your guild probably wont make it no matter what the ruleset is it if includes pvp. | ||

Lime, this isn't to some how make some side magically win.
It's about implementing a classic rule set (which works) and reducing the amount of people who get to 52 then quit cuz a 60 bard chasing them constantly while trying to at least get to a level that isnt scrub tier. You can be 54-56 and farm planar for a while so you won't ding 50-52 and instantly have items at risk to lvl 60s. Not to mention, at 8 lvls, you realize thats a -80 resist modifier for most spells here? I don't have the formula but thats what I think Null said he did. Mind you, I got rooted first cast as a 57 by a 60 with 168mr here and snared 2nd cast by a 59 druid at the same value. Pretty stupid. These should be extremely low resist requirement spells, and here, even having full max magic resist in every slot doesn't seem to help. Oh the days when wearing a froglok crown was viable/mattered... but I digress. And for the people looking to support their own interests only.. think of this. Maybe more people will stick around and farm plat to buy things from your guild bank. | ||

This has nothing to do with my guild LOL. I've been making posts about the stupidity of the level range and FFA status of Sol B / Permafrost for months and months. Just being on the other side of it has opened my eyes even further to how big an issue this is that really needs immediate attention. It was dumb in classic when wizards two spell ranks higher than you could drop ice comet on you, and it's dumb in kunark when duelist epic rogues can one shot you @ 52. This is a no brainer.

It isn't -80 resist. There's not much of a disparity between spell resists. I believe alecta posted once about it, the difference was like .8% per level. So a level 52 has like 6% less chance to resist/land a spell.

Lol 52+ exp zones:
Guk (shitty and away from any zonelines, not enough mobs to sustain a group but doable) SolB right next to a port and really easily accessible. Also FFA so lvl 35s getting royal groups can get 1 spotted by 60s. Efreeti/bugs only options. Pvp can happen 4 seconds after they zone in if they know your there. Be on your toes. Karnors lol good luck. Pit stop for Kunark ports, your lucky to have 15 minutes of uninterrupted exp. Only with guild support or lowest pop play times is this viable. Faction makes pvp favorable/unfavorable if you even attempt. Kedge only so good up to mid 50s COM pvp all day, high ground wizards sunstriking lvl 52s. Have an alt or be prepared to plug frequently and slow role it if solo. Fake groups I.e. join and 1 shot when low hp. Don't bother unless you can have 2 or 3 groups to lock it down and defend from enemy guild pvp. Sebilis viable, camp or evacuation if 60s come in. Hope your session lasted long enough to make it worth. High keep solo only, starved for mobs. Perma bear pits no charmer (druid preferred) no dice. Out of the way. Real risky for melee. FFA. Chardok one of the best options because it's not frequently visited but everything's a caster and it's ez to get trained by yourself. Need good group class makeup. Azrael and Nihilum each have people with faction in here. 1 lvl 60 with faction can wipe your entire group. Have a good CR. The Hole is another best option because it's out of the way and not frequently checked. Need a porter to get out once you drop down. Need a cleric and an enchanter. These are the options people have. Making them deal with 60s while having these options is discouraging. Even with ez fast exp. Being forced to camp or plug or get Ytd by someone 8 lvl higher or a group of people 8 lvls higher slowly eats people's moral and enthusiasm to level up. Even if they can get 10 the normal exp rate people want to play not be forced to not play. | ||
