The unbanning of Szeth wasn't recent.. and was done by a former GM. That could easily have been Amelinda, or somebody else.

Amelinda was corrupt, is Szeth's point. I don't think we can know for sure who exactly unbanned Szeth unless the GMs tell us.

Well it would seem to me that it was Ephi, as he/she was removed as a GM shortly afterwards, and Sirken said in a PM to someone that GM decisions are not just veto'd without an internal investigation (AKA he wouldn't reban szeth without another offense)

And I wasn't saying that Amelinda did the unbanning, don't read too much into this.

the intent of banning RMT'ers is to punish the player who broke the rules by taking that character away from them is it not? If you don't have access to him mission accomplished.

How do you punish someone who no longer plays the game? That doesn't make any sense mav.

What? The intent of banning RMT'ers is because profitting from an emu is beyond illegal. The moment real money is earned off of SONY's (or are we forgetting?) intellectual property is when they start to get mad.

And let's get serious, the person who sold Szeth for money to Sloan was either the one who paid me REAL LIFE USD for it, or the person who acquired it from them. So even though he doesn't have Szeth now, he used Szeth (we'll say $500.00 USD) and traded him for platinum and items. That would certainly look like he put a real money value on those items eh?

The intent of banning RMTers is to remove an asset that has been gained through intervention from another world. "Your in our world, now." So be in it, and accomplish things in it, don't use out-of-world means to obtain Norrathian goods.

Exactly. So the question is why are these assets later "forgiven" and then re-introduced into the system?

It would be like the DEA confiscating 3000 kilos of cocaine, storing it for 6 months, then dumping it back out on the streets.

Sounds corrupt to me.

Which isn't to say that this doesn't happen too... Just that when it's spit right into the public's eye that something needs to be done.
