There is actually a decent amount of pushback by “activists” against anything resembling the pursuit of a cure for autism. There are some autistic people who would like nothing more than to be rid of it, usually due to that making socializing potentially easier

But there are others who see their autism as a part of their personality, identity, and worldview, without any negative connotations. Those people would be offended by the idea that they have some affliction that needs to be cured

Expect the same sort of mixed responses towards a trans “source” and the resulting cure/prevention
