It would be no surprise to me if or if not the C man was boxing..

It makes sense that after all these years you're like, not interested in EQ but still totally addicted so you camp a toon at a spot and just answer tells as you pass your PC..

it gives you some sense of satisfaction that you are both playing EQ now.. and doing things in your real life...

...to bad that behavior is only able to be done by 2 or 3 or maybe 4 people on the server MAX before there is nothing left to camp that allows for that type of, relaxed gaming.

let alone the behavior by a single individual affects hundreds of play nice Eq'ers that this server should try to protect.

Tranix, FTE, no socking pre velious, stop the madness..

I'm just curious how you're still in TMO if you never respond to a single raid batphone and just sit at Tranix 24/7?

Nice, I got a mention in a RNF worthy thread! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I only spent a couple months camping Tranix regularly, but even then it was usually only 2 spawns a day on most days. My shaman has only been 60 since July 24th... and I haven't killed Tranix since August, so you might wanna do some fact checking and doublecheck your math to avoid sounding foolish.

It was a good camp for me because I work a lot and could afk to work or sleep between spawns. Since I often play while I am working more active solo camps like Hierophant aren't really an option for me because they require me to be at my keyboard every few minutes.

Since getting a Donal's BP and Manastone for my cleric I haven't bothered with Tranix. The drop rate is pretty terrible, and there's a lot more fun and profitable things to do in the game now.

I think it's cute when people with far too much time on their hands act all butthurt about people that farm salable items in a game that was designed in a such a way to encourage farming of items to sell/trade for other items your character needs to advance and be more successful at harder content.

With that said I think Tranix being a campable mob is ruining the "classic experience" in this case.... and is easily abusable by having someone log in a monk from a different location and keeping that character FD and AFK for days at a time.

If the camp was FTE then there wouldn't be the incentive for people to sit there 24/7 for months on end because they couldn't guarantee they will get FTE every time. This would make it far more common to encounter Tranix up randomly... and wouldn't be nearly as permacamped as it is now.

TL : DR Version:

1. Get better things to do with your life than whining about what other people do in a video game.
2. Make Tranix FTE to put an end to permacamping.

Do people really think FTE is going to fix this problem? All it enables is a different form of frustration if it remains a fixed timer. Instead of one guy who, once he has the camp, is able to engage, it will be 4 different people, probably ungrouped, doing it.

If you're gonna make it FTE, make it random in a window like RF, where the expected average spawn time is 8 hours. Then people who want to camp it and FTE actually have to work for it.

Not everything needs to be more rules and GM involvement, but on this one, it seems the rules themselves (physical presence determining the camp) is the problem. The same thing can be said about the Fishbone Earring camp, but at least on that one, the randomness makes it more likely that the AFK camper will not be present, allowing others to take it.

And when you say "work for it".

You really just mean "neckbeard and stare at a spot for 0-8 hours hoping to spam click and get FTE".

Staring doing nothing for hours on end should not be rewarded.
Time invested PLAYING should be. Poopsocking and just aimlessly clicking for hours on end should warrant you a death touch and prevention from entering that zone to loot your corpse for multiple days.

Daldaen, your comment is a perfectly valid normative statement, but takes us nowhere to addressing the actual problem of humans interacting.

GMs should just DT or freeze your character if you're going to lock down something like this.

+1000

Tranix repopping every giant and then summoning them all to him like CT? That would be amazingly awesome. Not all that classic, but awesome.

P.S. I am proud to be part of this epic thread as it dances on the edge between sanity and RNF
