I have found several instances on Alla from posts in 2001 where he drops a different amount of spells. 2 ususlly each time and sometimes 3 or 4. I'm don't think it was 100% on all 4 in that time frame. EQMac may have been different.

Lodizal is not exactly tough. One well balanced 55+ group (incl. at least 1 Warrior using Defensive Discipline, 1 Cleric, 1 Slower + 3 other classes, preferably high damage dealers) can kill the turtle pretty easy. Lodizal double hits for max. 300 and has about 30k HPs. Godlike damage but without all the gimicks (AE Fear, AE Damage, Complete Healing) it one of the best mobs in the game in regards of risk/reward ratio.

It usually drops one or two shell pieces for the shield quest, the map for the mask quest, one or two items out of the other loot (Boots, Ring, Club, Belt) and 2-4 level 59/60 Velious spells.

To the guy who said it jumped him for 1400 and bashed for 900. He was obviously not speaking of Lodizal in Ice Clad Ocean but Kelorek`Dar in Cobalt Scar. Kelorek`Dar is a sea dragon. There are no otters in Ice Clad Ocea, only Cobalt Scar ;p

cant say for sure but it wouldnt make sense that you could just translocate someone to CS and they pick up the tooth for future ports.

It used to be a big deal making sure all your characters tripped to CS for that tooth. If you didnt have a key you had to find someone with a key to group with to get into the zone (or quest/kill for a key which wasnt always an option)

Added appropriate teeth to the wizard Translocate spells.

-The items required for these quests will drop when it becomes ~March2001.

Were Small Portal Fragments always required for Translocate spells? Should they be added to the Solusek vendor in ~May 2001?

Additionally, this is in a thread I posted in 2010. Not sure where the actual allakhazam link is, but indicates the addition of ring/circle Surefall as well as Velious rings in November 2001. Is this correct?

Not long. It was added maybe 6-8 weeks ago, if I recall correctly.

When I played my wizard in the late velious era I always had to have stacks of fragments to TL people. I have no idea if it was like that on launch, but I know 100% for sure that they were required before Luclin launched.

Question for Nilbog / anyone with the bane spells:

Are wizard banes requiring belly cast on beta? Myga is a BITCH to find.

Iirc they shouldn't require a belly cast as they do not on the live test server, although lures etc still should (and also do on the test server). I'm not finding a lot on this either way.
