I wish there was some sort of framework for making everquest servers so people could build their own red instead of begging for P99 to do it.

It seems like TAKP client is too good to be true. Do they really have the whole server code from the real live eq Mac server? How is this not a huge deal. It’s way a billion times closer to whatever we have going on with titanium.

we used to constantly go to EQMac or TAKP project to test stuff for fixes on red, until they stopped doing fixes on red making said research pointless

my personal theory is that "cast/heavens_myst" freak harrassed rogean IRL in some way that made him hate red forever

its insane to think people liked that freak and ran off actual cool community members like kungen

having played both p99 and takp extensively, i do agree that TAKP has a classic feel, and p99 has a manufactured feel

especially when you've got pattern recognition super powers and you stare at the melee spam box you can see how clunky melee mechanics are on p99 and how smooth and natural they appear on takp

I think p99 feels classic as fuck. (It feels very classic is what I mean.) But I mostly play in noob zones.

It’s classic, but if takp is the actual legit eq mac client someone was able to copy completely, there’s nothing that can compare to it.
