That's mostly CNA's, not nurses. As someone who works with nurses, 80% are the most useless sacks of shit in the entire hospital. Never before has a profession been so quick to take credit and gone to such great lengths to avoid responsibility. You don't see nephrologists all dolled up in their cleanest scrubs marching around the statehouse seeking praise and posing for selfies. They're too busy actually making a difference

My son is smarter than you and was an ICU nurse for a while. He definitely did a lot of heavy lifting, as does his wife (another nurse). Gonna have to disagree with you guys, they deserve hazard pay by orders if magnitude more than minimum wage workers deserve $1000 a week in unemployment

Well the ICU tends to be where the 20% of those "good" nurses end up.

Assuming you aren't a geriatric, chances are this virus isn't going to kill you or cause any lasting damage. But it's a roll of the die, and there's a non-negligible chance your body's immune system just happens to be incompatible with Covid-19 or you have some unknown underlying arrhythmia and you die. Nurses don't really put themselves at any more risk than dentists, hairstylists, transit workers, grocery store workers, etc. Hazard pay is for those really fucking dangerous professions like arctic crab fishermen where every year someone gets washed off the deck by a rogue wave and dies, or the dudes that fly helicopters up and down power lines poking them with poles.
