In other words, the casual racism on display in this thread is the reactionary violence being workshopped by the reactionary voter base. Their answer to nearly every problem is more violence in some form.
Why is it racist to remove what little social safety net there is in America?

What are you saying here?

I don't think it's true and would prefer to not find out.

Anyway, Foxconn.

There’s more white people on welfare than black, but that’s due to there being more white people in general

Regardless, it’s right in the name, which isn’t welfare….it is Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. It’s meant to be temporary, not something you sit on for life. At the very least, we should look at removing those people on it who are physically and mentally capable of working but choose not to, the majority of which would be white people

No idea how many people that would be who are abusing it. If you ask a Dem, it’s zero. If you ask a Repub, it’s most of the people on it

I imagine Dems believe that everyone on welfare are super ambitious and hard-working, every day using what public transport they can access to go put applications in at various entry level jobs around the area, probably putting in 3 different ones a day

Then sitting patiently by their phone, flabbergasted at the fact that no one is calling them back with job opportunities in a labor shortage market

Whatever fantasy helps you sleep at night. I bet they’re all like that too

Also, if we are using the excuse that entry level jobs can’t cover the cost of living, then why can’t I have the government pay part of my mortgage off with their money printers?

When I first bought my home, my mortgage was good comparatively at $1200/mo, but it was literally impossible for me to afford to live with that kind of a mortgage. So I had to get some roommates to cover the cost of rent (or in this case, my mortgage)

I had the dilemma of finding random strangers online or looking to co-workers/friends/family, and I was able to find someone, new people multiple times when one had to leave for various reasons

Why should I have to do any of this? Why can’t I just say “hey government, my job doesn’t pay enough, so you pay the rest because I want to be able to live alone with my cat and not have to figure out how to co-exist in a space with other people”

The worst abusers of welfare aren't people but corporations. Companies like Walmart and McDonald's actually encourage their employees to apply for welfare and food stamps since they aren't getting paid enough to survive. We the taxpayers get to basically subsidize paying their staff for them.

The only gripe here is possibly not paying more when they could. Telling people about gov’t programs I would say is helpful not hurtful

When you don’t make enough to make ends meet you have to get resourceful, which includes getting roommates and looking for whatever social program could help

Illegals immigrants from Central America and Mexico make probably a few dollars a day and still survive as families with very little in the way of gov’t assistance because in some states adult illegals don’t qualify. They just downgrade their standard of living below what Americans are comfortable with
