Where did you hear about Project 1999?

Interestingly enough, I was thumbing through some message boards on gamefaqs and saw mention of this on the Everquest Board. I thought it was too good to be true, so I hopped over and checked it out.

Heard about this server from a guy in my Vanguard guild and because I missed the original EQ wanted to see what all the fuss was about so here I am.

Someone left a comment on my web site asking if I'd heard about project1999. Had no idea what he was talkin' about but so far I'm extremely glad I checked into it. I was on Dungeons and Dragons online, ran past a guy named Solusek Ro started talking in tells about old EQ and he told me about p99. Got it running and then Uninstalled DnD online. Thank you DEVS!!!

Through some of my guildies on Aion Xaleban and Silverflux. I really like the old school EQ and having fun. We are all playing this now and recruiting more friends.

Long answer: Played EQ from Summer of 1999 (had a neat GMUD style gui) until shortly after Titanium was released. Got darned tired of all the instances being added and the instant travel was already on my nerves.

Don’t remember exactly when, but I found the emu, back when mob’s were very buggy and there was no fog in faydark (years ago). Have a few characters around cap on the grand creation server. With the implementation of instances, started to loose interest fast. Titanium was having problems with my new video card so uninstalled fall of last year.

Looked at the emu list this year and saw p1999, so reinstalled and fixed the problem with the video card. So now I’m doing my first run-trough with a Drui and then enters my Cleric. Looking forward to Kunark the most.

Googled "Everquest 3". I think it's the first or second link, some sort of blog. Some guy sent in a reply talking about this.
