I feel like we won enough raids, surely at this point it is more fun to make use of what shows up? Or maybe it is better to run the exact same encounter for the 300th time.
I do understand why leaders/playmakers push for optimal roles because other than draft week you cant always win a mob without the right fte crew. Maybe i noticed this a lot because i was usually seeing raid mobs during workday hours where the squads were smaller(sometimes).

Moot point. There's 60+ people on every raid these days. Nobody runs small-ops anymore. Let people play whatever they want - because at the end of the day it's 6 people doing all the heavy lifting anyway, with a few extras who main clerics for the CH chain.

If you have a geared warrior tank, and a handful of clerics chain casting CH - the rest of the comp is just for efficiency.

Let people play what they want ffs
Mankind’s ability to justify bad decisions is one of the most fascinating things to see in action.

Just phoning it in is the anthesis of EQ raiding. Nobody likes being in a CH chain that lasts twice as long as it should.

Eh EQ is way more phone it in than most MMO raiding. It's just when you turn raiding into a speed run against other guilds it changes the dynamic. Historically alot of the hardcore guilds ran MASSIVE numbers with suboptimal classes in many cases, but they were just so far ahead of the other competitors on their server they could just full clear and kill raid mobs much simpler than todays race meta.

If you are going to warmbody, play a bot. Or level a class you can chill out on and still actually contribute.
100%. Rogue works very well for this and really doesn't require much investment to meaningfully contribute. Think of it as a mercenary that's earning your main all of the DKP. A game within the game.

Yeah, it's actually pretty hilarious how much mileage you can get out of a Rogue with Epic + a decent offhand and some basic resist gear. A+ best bang for buck raiding character.

Rogues and clerics are basically infinitely stackable and you can tune out the feeble cries of "someone needs to step up" from bad leaders who don't know how to delegate while you earn your elf bucks for gear you don't need to help you kill things you can already kill.

Yea, rogues are just too good. Not having to faction to kill Doz with one is broken. They are even cheap to gear.

They're an absolute shit class to level legitimately, especially on a dying server. KSing an OOP shaman is kinda neat though.

You ever think maybe you're a bad person? The people I hand out stickers to seem to genuinely appreciate it, and it makes me happy to help brighten someone else's day.

This isn't about me. Do you always think about yourself instead of helping others? Wait for me in the other thread, I have a little attention for you today hazel.
