Back when you could sell accounts for plat, I got personally audited by Rogean when I had 800k+. I was able to identify every single trade for him. I don't think some of the people who paid plat for the chars I sold may have been so lucky but I was not privy to that info. Rogean went off and did Rogean things from there.

There were times the exchange rate was 4:1 red/blue, I traded some back and forth as time allowed and depending what I was doing.

Seafuries were great before blue petitionquest (due to people being idiots) got the gem drop rate nerfed on red as well.
