Got 6300 points saved up. Stuck between:

Nocturne, Lee Sin, Rumble, and Vayne. Lee Sin is the weakest choice out of the 4, but I really like the characters abilities and monkness. I'll probably go with him or Vayne.

well vayne isn't getting nerfed anytime soon. so if you like to mid , she will be the best for awhile probably.

I had a discussion last night about Nocturne and how ballz out good he is, but i think he gets nerfed today.

Lee sin is fucking redic.

Rumble is bleh... I dont really like him. He doesn't bring anything to the table. Kinda like a bad Garen.

NOTE: Someone post the patch notes. I can't get onto the page at work.

are you kidding me? Nasus (egyptian wallaby) is a beast. Probably the best solo against a duo lane.
He is very narrow though, and usually choose him as a counter pick to AD carries.

I don't recognize any of those champs knuckle is talking about....

Wish Riot would spend more time balancing things, making new maps, and tuning matchmaking and stop pumping out new champions every other week.

I quit around October and just came back recently, and it seems they have done well balancing a lot of issues I had back then. New maps is a hard one, due to balancing issues. Just look at 3v3. Matchmaking DOES need a tune up. whatever system they have in place is just bad. I don't mind new champions. I know that department isn't involved in the other things you mentioned so it's kinda a moot point.
