When that original naming violation policy thread was created, the server guides never enforced the naming policy unless the names were crazy out of bounds. You know that.

I thought that thread was fun because we got to share all the wacky/disgusting/stupid/humorous names in a thread, at least that's what I thought it was created for.

I honestly didn't know Baler was nerd raging over these names in game. I honestly thought it was created for fun.

It wasn't until I got a PM meltdown message from Baler that I realized he was seething from me adding to his list. According to him, I was riding his coattails and "leeching" his thread by adding names to his list. In his world by associating myself with his thread I was trying to gain social power on the forums. I found this extremely humorous, to say the least.

Once I saw that it infuriated Baler, particularly after he started sending me nasty PMs I kept adding names to it for my own personal amusement, I mean it was fun after all. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I have never once petitioned a name in the game because I thought it violated the naming policy, and any names we put on that old list was just in good humor at least on my part.

EVEN the awful name, "Bodyofchrist." I always hated that name, and secretly hoped a guide would read the forums and change it. Months later after that thread, I seen Bodyofchrist happily running around Norrath. Clearly the guides didn't give a shit about our list back then.

Skarlorn, you are smart enough to know when I write on the forums I helped Baler with that list, I write that purely to troll him because he still seethes over the notion that I believe he is not responsible for the success of that thread and I am. I know it irks him.

You may petition for a 1 time name change (within an acceptable time frame) so long as it adheres to the naming policy. Do not petition with the expectation of getting your original name back, it was changed for a reason. Thank you for your cooperation.

Clearly some names should be changed. Papp Smear is offensive and gross besides being in clear violation of the naming policy.

That being said, it's reasonable to understand how character names that have ran around the server for 7 years then suddenly get changed would upset people.

To all the leeches who are riding the coattails of Troll-Masters Skarlorn and Pokesan in this thread and others regarding names being changed, I share these words of a great poster who just recently ascended:
