It's well worth the wait and I think everyone should just stop your bitching and either help out with the testing, or eagerly await the re-opening of the servers [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] god the amount of down time that used to happen on live (trust me I know as I am from Australia) and it was ALWAYS during my peak time, I haven't had any downtime since playing for the last 4 months

You guys rock, keep making this an awesome experience to re-live and I can't wait till Velious drops!!!!

Just discovered the server a week ago and I'm trying to catch up [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Lvl 24 atm and I really dont care much for a velious anytime soon - I still want to enjoy vanilly+Kunark.
It would be cool if you could just add a restriction, so accounts with lvl 60's on them are only able to log on to beta.
Then the newbies like myself can continue to work on their tiny toons. OR let us carry over the xp made in beta, to the P99 live server.
If not, then I guess my wife will be happy about me fixing that sliding door she's been bugging me to make her [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I've been trying to get in to beta but keep getting stuck with the messages in the character selection slots that say I don't have the latest spell files. Any suggestions? My steps so far were:

1. Make a copy of the EQ directory I use to log in to blue/red
2. Update the spell file in that directory using the link found in the beta thread
3. Use the /beta command twice on one of my existing chars
4. Log in to the EQ beta directory (yes, I make sure everything points to that directory)

What am I doing wrong?

Beta and Live are using the same spell file at the moment. Just use the same install for now.

You got further than I did. Where exactly is the Velious thread with the instructions for logging into the beta? I cannot even find a thread that tells you to make a copy of your EQ directory etc.
