I'm not half native, not even close, and my damn skin is tan as fuck if I even see sunlight for more than 30 minutes.

So, either she never leaves the basement or she is less than 1/16th native.

He's definitely darker than me by quite a bit but I take after my scottish and french side more, so oh well.. Thanks for your input though. Sorry I'm not dark enough for you. Lol

Weirdly enough, my son is darker than me and his father is 100% white, so he is 1/4. Genetics are a funny thing. =)

I think my grandmother's grandmother (or her grandmother's mom) was Cherokee and it has pretty much turned every male in my family to a tanned mofo (we also farm, so it has a little to do with it). My mother's side apparently had Iraquois somewhere, but they are all white as fuck due to my grandfather being some German/Irish/Italian hybrid thing or whatever.

My younger sister and I are really tan and stay that way easily, while my older sister is pretty white like my mom's side. I can see how genetics can do it, just not when you're that close I guess.

I actively try to avoid tanning, and have since I was 19. I worked at a tanning salon and saw the women turning themselves into beef jerky there. It wasn't pretty. I take excellent care of my skin and look at least 10-15 years younger than I am. Getting some sun is good but baking yourself in it is bad. If the result is that I look pretty pale, so be it. Better than looking like that old lady from "There's Something About Mary".
