Dullah you dipshit its directly correlated to the exp rate. Notice when there's an exp boost the population goes up and when its taken away it goes back down. Hello are you dense mcfly?

the MAJORITY of people do not have time to grind a 15 year old game for months to get max level. We are not in high school or college anymore. I know it has been REALLY hard for me to even get to 55 and i made my character the day the fucking server opened.

I am not saying make it a /level 60 server but fuck it can not be a .5% xp rate. Higher exp rates = more pop = more pvp = more fun.

plain and simple dude, you have no argument against that so don't even bother replying to my post.
Ya, you're right einstein. It isn't the lack of players preventing people from grouping, exping, raiding and playing EQ like its meant to be played, its the exp rate. All those hundreds of level 60s that aren't playing right now as well, aren't because the lack of players and competition, its also because the exp rate.

Just never talk again, ever.

VZTZ was a FFA server, with a top guild (leader of that guild, Heresy)

We ALWAYS had competition, sometimes multiple guilds. It didnt take 6 months to get 60 and enough gear to pvp. It took maybe a month or 2. People could effectively compete with us because we didnt have this huge level difference and gear gap.

The 60s that exist on this server dont want to sit and wait for new players to level up and eventually quit or break into several other small guilds. If it didnt take so fucking long to get to the end game then we would have a much higher player base ready to compete with the top guild.

no1 has the patience to compete. how many people even completed their VP keys from the like 20 teeth outside of nihilum? 1? 2? even if you guys were all 60 you still wouldn't compete. then we'd hear about how the mobs popping @ 5pm-8pm EST is too early to compete, or something else. the playerbase here for w/e reason sucks balls. we need fresh blood, and hopefully the bluebie blood infusion coming with team99 will do that.

no one has the stomach to do that shit when the server will just get reset the very next day

where nihilum lacks in individual player skill they make up for with overwhelming batphone response numbers

29 people showed up for the SK/Cleric BOTB. Server hasn't been over 200 people in months, maybe a small spike with that 300% exp bonus? Imagine that.

There is such a small % of people who enjoy the classic feel of everquest on red99, and it's usually losers with a massive playtime, making the grind really mean nothing one way or the other and just defend their Nihilum stance of "everything is fine" even though it isn't, in any way fine or fun.

Supreme isn't a no lifer, infact he never played since the beginning of the box. I saw him briefly around in classic, and in Kunark a few times on his necro.

Funny facts about Supreme, he made a necro so it was easy to level. And he took heat in teamspeak several times over his inability to neckbeard due to RL reasons.

Supreme was unable basically to play the game because he had a family, and commitments. I don't like any of that to decide if someone can play here, it shouldn't take 500 hours to get to max level, it's insane.

But whatevs, I don't imagine GM'S will budge on it - but I can't imagine anyone playing here, if a big part of their game is grinding and grouping. Blue has 1k+ players a night, with groups in every zone. If that was a main attraction for you, you wouldn't have picked red99 anyway, since it's mostly solo, and reflects nothing of what EQ was back in the day, or should be.

Destin's "go play somewhere else" line is actually what has happened to red99, everyone has gone to play somewhere else, and it's shit. So stop saying everything is good and go play somewhere else, it's already happened.
I played Red99 since day 1 when box opened (remember Supremex and to this day everyone says i am Mexican?)

And I quit Everquest because there are just better things to do than grind pixels. Like finish a PHD, have kids and grow the fuck up.

But as with all my pals if they want to play EQ all day and all night i am definitely here to support that.

First I saw of you was in SK soloing gnolls on my mage man - that was after the Naggy ban.

First time I encountered you in pvp I had to train you in sola, and then killed you in solb as a lowbie due to no level range.

You may have been around, but you have never really been around, which is the entire point of our side of the argument.

Insta 60 is not required, free item vendors are not required, infact not even mentioning loot drops/raids - just that it doesn't take more time than most people have for the target audience/age group. A lot of people have careers/families, if they can only log on 2-3 days a week for a few hours, you can guarantee it will be spent grinding, solo, and probably never reach max level or be a part of the fun/contribute to it at least on Red99.

The no lifers, like stated before that want to play all day and night, don't care they have the time - and they are obviously anti- anything that doesn't support neckbearders advantage.

I don't believe changing exp rate makes things custom, as long as it isn't take out of control. Levelling is work most people hate doing, but it allows an advantage for people that like to create a buffer between them and the masses simply by having more playtime.

But like I said, GM'S won't consider this - and maybe teams will make casuals have fun during the mid/low range, and avoid the end game altogether.

Normal people do not have the time, or lack of initiative for their real life over eq to sit and play 20 hours a day.

It's really tough to create a guild with loyal members. There isn't much of an opposition core that want to play together and have their own guild. When the number 1 guild always has open recruitment there really is 0 chance for lessor guilds to out recruit or retain members.

It takes a couple months to build numbers and after 4 weeks of waiting around any sane player would just jump ship and head to nihilum if they didn't have some meaningful ties to another guild. There are handfuls of these people but not enough for a guild.

What creates more guilds are when players are turned away from the number 1 guild and there aren't enough pixels to go around. This isn't the case on red, don't have the numbers to exclude enough from nihilum.
