Actually Nikon if that was in reference to that sentence in my post then please don't get me wrong.
Not necessarily your post. I've just been seeing it more and more. Sounds like forum trolls perfecting the art in-game and I don't see it as a legitimate excuse to buy plat.

Lecompte helped me out when I first started. He gave me 100 pp to gear up. I got disgusted with the greedy twinks and sold everything I bought and gave him back more than he gave (I am a good investment). When I gave the server a second Chance, Pringles gave me 300pp which I have turned into almost 50k worth of items on all my characters. I don't have the best gear, but I am content with what I have and feel I am an asset to any group I join.

Don't get caught up with what others have. Just play and be patient. Riches will come eventually and you will like it better knowing you earned it.

Another person (16 warrior) I gave like 1k of gear to was quitting because his friends quit playing and returned me 1k, 2 lammies and some other items that I have since given away. I think I geared one ogre sk and one or two rangers. Hybrid love.

I guess a lot of people probably already know RMT is a bannable offense, I didn't...again I guess that is my own fault for being ignorant/not being on the forums all the time. I just relied on information from players in the game....you know kind of like back in P1999.
K
You mean...never reading the rules even once.

You don't need to be a lvl 60 forumquester to know that RMT is against the rules......no sympathy from me.

Just FYI, I merely gave him a suit of Flayed Skin Armour, and a Mithril Two-Handed Sword. but that's besides the point.

After reading all of this, my feelings toward cheating are even more solidified.

If you RMT, buy powerleveling, or buy an account, you aren't actually playing the game....so why bother playing at all? Do you feel pride when you're wearing gear that you bought by cheating? Do you feel good about playing a high level character that you didn't level? Where's the joy in that? Where's the sense of accomplishment?

There's fifty other games out there with shops that you can RMT gear and levels. Why do you pick the one challenging game still standing -beloved because it is difficult- and then power level through it or buy twink gear to bypass much of what makes EQ what it is? It makes no fucking sense.

Its like when I worked a classic car race in Daytona a few years back and a guy showed up with a 'stock' 65 mustang that actually had a Winston cup motor and a fiberglass body. Sure, he was much much faster than everyone else but he couldn't win any points in the races and he looked like a complete asshat to anyone who knew what he was running.

I don't know where this thought process comes from but you cannot buy power in the overwhelming majority of today's MMO's. This is true about nearly every western MMO (certainly every western MMO I can think of).

Rift, WoW, EQ, EQ2, Wizardy Online, TSW, SW:TOR, etc do not support RMT for currency (bannable offense) and do not allow you to purchase power with cash shops. There is no way in hell the OP got the idea that it is OK to buy pp with real-world currency from playing modern MMOs. Shit gets you banned there too, if they catch you.

There's plenty of games where you can buy gear, potions, and items that make the game easy mode. The point I was making is that if that's how you want to play, then why not play one of those games instead of cheating on this one?

You're not the only person who has expressed similar beliefs. It's a common thread around here. People think F2P games mean you can drop cash and have a maxed-out character, and that's the opposite of true because that would destroy their entire business model.

It's also a cop-out excuse used by people like the OP who cheat in other MMOs and don't get caught because the systems aren't in place to police them the way they are here.
