The former DA players that are in IB are not the best players that were in that guild. Not even close. Some of them are skilled players to be sure, but they weren't anything particularly impressive when they were in DA. Trying to claim that these DA that joined TR made DA the success that it was is at it's peak is like saying Shiftin and Uuaellaen are what made IB the success that it was at it's peak.
Everybody's hands are a little dirty on this server. Even the devs. Why one guild still pretends to be "clean" after their officers were caught cheating is an interesting phenomenon, but I digress.
Loke was undermining his own guild and selling it out as an officer in DA while supposedly pulling in Fear during a competitive raid. Are you telling me he's the same caliber of player as Sochin or Emil? You know he's not even close.
What does Heebee do? He's a paladin (heh) who used to tell me how much of a cunt he thought XZerion/IB leadership was in private tells. Now they are probably best buddies.
Loaki backstabs shit. Well that's impressive. This is the same Loaki who saw all the shady shit being done to DA when he was raiding in that guild. For instance Uuaelaen pretending to be a GM and banning DA leadership over some garbage because he was in the tank for IB. He would constantly complain about it and was one the most vocal anti IB members of DA. He would scream in the mic if we made any concessions that favored IB. Durison even went to his wedding apparently. Now he's sporting the TR tag.
Who are you? You're just some scrub who apped to DA and when the opportunity to join IB presented itself, you took it. You never organized a guild. You've never led a raid or instituted tactics and strategy against a rival guild. I'm sure you logged in and hit your BS key though, which now makes you believe that you're equally caliber the player who actually created IB or were a part of it's highly skilled and successful core that hasn't played in a looooong time. Do you think players like Uuaelaen made IB successful? You've just piggy backed off of other players to gear your toon. You've never done shit.
How all these other former "noble and respectable" DA are raiding with the guy who was fucking them in the ass when they were in DA now just shows that everyone sells out for loot. At one time, as far fetched as it sounds, Durison and Gwence were going to create a guild together to compete against IB. Gwence joined IB instead because he sold out for loot. He didn't want to compete against them. He didn't want to try and lead a guild that could beat them. Every one of these former DA that now sport the TR tag did the same thing because they wanted the loot. We used to call these people "loot whores" back in the real classic. Generally they were despised by the general server population when reputation actually mattered. For some odd reason they are now embraced on P99 and reputation doesn't mean shit as long as you are batphoning and zerging to victory.
These people now defend the guild they hated and despised for over a year. But we're talking about ego and loot here, so that kind of shit can be ignored apparently. Well if that's going to be the case do us all a favor. Don't come to these forums and pretend like these former DA members have integrity or something. It's doesn't pass the laugh test.
Loot fuels the insanity of this server. Look at the screenshots measuring dicks with all the loot in the banks. Someone has a few more dragon scales in the bank or something. Or some guy has a COF in his bank when the other guild doesn't or something. It's not even about the kills anymore. True skill is now measured by how much loot you have rotting away in your guild vault. Fuck it, why even hand out loot if that is the measuring stick for bragging rights? Just farm loot to stick in your guild bank, so you can take SS's and say "Hey aren't you jelly at how many haste items I have in my guild bank bro?"
As far as I'm concerned, this server has completely jumped the shark when it comes to raiding and competition. It's just silly now. When you're dumb ass is waking up at 4AM on a work night to groggily log in for 30 seconds to zerg down a mob, you got problems. I used to think WOW was easy. Wow isn't easy. Instanced raiding isn't easy necessarily. It's just convenient. Waking up at 4 Am to "raid" which consists of logging in groggily to mash your keyboard and bum rush a mob to wack a mole it death isn't skill, it's fucking stupid.
This is a totally different game than classic EQ anyways. The mechanics aren't 100% classic at all. They are all borked. The raid game has evolved and adapted to the current EMU mechanics, but for whatever reason people are still comparing it the classic raid experience. Upon release sky was broken for months and months. Didn't matter. The guilds were measuring dicks anyways over loot.
This is why instanced content was created. To save servers from becoming what P99 has become. This drama fest where guilds are too childish to admit they are equally skilled and equally matched. They don't engage in friendly competition in any way or work out some schedule which allows their members to actually "enjoy" the game and raid a mob without being glued at your keyboard and spastically hammering down a dragon while some dickhead in the rival guild is trying to train you while using his Show EQ sonar bullshit hacks.
Both guilds have good players. Instead of respecting each other's skill though, you're now doing what IB has done since day one. You pretend like you're the greatest EQ players ever or something. You're not. This is an evolving game. The raid scene right now is not even comparable to that time long ago in classic. I've raided with both TMO and IB. Both guilds have good leadership/pullers. Both have good players. It's a shame both guilds can't admit that about one another.
