I've been banned from Reddit for all kinds of reasons. My IP is flagged, my account still gets banned if I post in /r/politics.

It is now easy to snuff out political movements and unions etc hes against if he controls the media by which they communicate/recruit.

You can also control which narratives of events that reach the user base as a whole.

Yep, control the narrative, and you control public perception

This is why I think if things ever got really bad, if a particular political party had a tight enough grip on legacy and social medias, they could simply convince the public things are not actually bad
