I eat big when it’s leg day because a 4-5 mile run and a 2 hour lift burns all of it

So this is lunch at Asian Cafe Express, finger for scale

When I was younger, I had acne and was into weightlifting and nutrition. I tried all sorts of diets to get more buffed and have better skin. I ended up eating lots of whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, fruits, veg and lean animal protein for years because this is what we learn when we “look into it”. I blamed dairy and processed foods like everyone else for my acne. I was afraid to use butter and salt for cooking lol. Long story short I absolutely fucking ruined my health, ended up with testicular cancer at age 32, was non-aggressive type thankfully. I'm 37 now still struggling with chronic health problems that all seem related to digestive issues.

Some of my current health issues are eczema/psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, muscle spasms, migraines, IBS/colitis, GERD, heart palps, high blood pressure, swelling of eyelids, tonsil and eyelid cysts, benign tumors in lungs, swollen lymph nodes... the list keeps going, anyway.

Almost all these symptom’s flair up due to food intolerances. The worst intolerance being to nuts and seeds. This includes anything with seeds, even tomatoes. I get very ill from nuts and seeds and never used to have issues with them. Whole grains & beans are next worst thing for me to eat. Meats, especially beef or tuna can cause issues. Some fermented dairies like old sharp cheddar give me some issues. The only things that give me no issue are milk, eggs and other fresh milk products like butter or cream. Tubers also top of the list for foods I can eat without much issue. Most veg/fruit not so bad if cooked and no seeds of course. It’s almost like the foods that are firmer and more abrasive or maybe slower to digest are worse.

I have learned so much over the last 10 years or so battling this bullshit. A few key things I want to share. If you’re not lactose intolerant, think real hard about if dairy is really bad for you. Look at the nutritional values, look at human history for the last 6000+ years as old as literature gets, there has always been farming. Think about local adaptation which is an observable fact and how this would affect our diets. Kids love dairy, you know what they don’t like? A bunch of fuckin leaves, beans and whole grains. Why is that? Because it’s not their species-specific diet and they have not been subverted from their nature yet.

Another key thing I have learned is that if your constipated you could just need more salt. Plain old table salt will do. You can get fancy and get potassium and other minerals and make a drink if you like. Google “snake juice” for a recipe. Just chug 2 or 3 teaspoons of salt in a litre or 2 of water on an empty stomach and you can have explosive diarrhea in under an hour If you would really like to clean your self out. Don’t make any plans for a couple hours and be careful if you think you need to fart later that day. Also, high fat diet is great for digestive issues and can help constipation. This is why sometimes you run to take a shit after you give in and eat fast food. High fat and high sodium.

I would seriously say you’re better off eating fast food and chips and pop everyday rather than choking down all that grain waste and veg material. All these fiber products are literally grain waste from factories that used to have to be paid for to be disposed of. Now they are selling it to you. They are skipping steps in refining to sell you “whole grain” because it’s healthier they say. Refining grain is not a high-tech modern operation, that ruins health. The grain just needs to be ground and filtered. People would have been doing this for ever to get rid of that nasty unhealthy, unappetizing husk.

I would also like to say I am a super lazy glutton, and I would have probably solved all my health issues by now with long fasts and drinking water only. Fasting seems to work wonders for me but I am glutton. One thing I have started doing that’s easy to do is fasting from everything but milk and water. Milk only fasting makes it easy to still exercise and be functional while fasting. I get an un-homogenized local grass-fed milk

My theory is that I have poor digestive tract permeability causes by damage done with this ludicrous diet ideology coming out these days. This is allowing unwanted food particles to pass into the blood stream causing auto immune reactions. The more I fast and exercise the better everything gets. The more I be a lazy glutton, the worse everything gets. I also believe the lymphatic system is bogged down. From all the excess shit its filtering. Best way to move the lymph fluid is long walks and stuff, any type of exercise really.

In my opinion the best diet is the one most of our ancestors ate. Which would be a seasonal diet based off what’s available through local farming. Check out a historical cookbook with a seasonal menu for an example.
So if you’re suffering from any health problems especially digestive ones, please consider my story and your opinion on diet.

To sum this up:

I ruined my health eating daily servings of nuts, seeds, whole grains, beans, veg and fruits.

Eggs & dairy are premium human food.

Salt & fat make you poo and are good for you.

Fasting and exercise are a cure all.

I am a lazy glutton

^ I bet if you cut out a lot of grains and veg, and focus more on meat you would have better results. Never forget, you are a human being, a predator, a killer.
(this was in refence to all the mistakes you made in the acne phase) I also had really bad acne.

That was my favorite forever. I should eat it at least one last time before Valhalla.

My closest ancestors are Irish potato famine survivors.

Peas. Carrots. Fish. Onions. Bread. Potatoes. Mutton. Currant. Maybe like the occasional herb with vitamin C or Mushrooms. Lots of ale. Maybe some seaweed. And shellfish.

Sourdough is where it's at. Put stuff turned into paste on that or a piece of meat. I'm pretty happy. Little bit of yogurt or butter works too. Or a pudding. The kind made with smaltz, rendered fat. Maybe some goat cheese.

Man. I miss my swiss, munster.

Cabbage too. W/corned beef aka a pastrami.

Lampolo it did sound like auto-immune issues, that’s what I was thinking right away. It sounds like you have experience to relate them to particular food intake so I’ll defer to your experience on that

I haven’t heard the same negative things about veggies and fiber, however refined grain is widely considered bad for you in the health and fitness community, this is due to the refining process. That I definitely have heard before
