It's called conviction, and you have to sort of admire them for standing for something: moral relativism and utilitarianism being the precise reason why the US is in shambles right now. I understand this may not accurately represent your self, personally, but I believe that's enough grandstanding for a swathe of people surrounding you who would prefer you dead for not joining their bullshit science experiments for an aging boomer population deathly afraid of catching, and dying to, the common cold.

If they're farmers it's a pretty fair bet they hate the dirt and the rocks too. Especially rocks.

As for how nuts they are...these are the dudes who felt so threatened by old rock carvings that they had to attack said carvings with bazookas. They have a pretty good handle on "nuts." Doesn't mean there aren't nuts on this side of the Atlantic, too. There are a lot of nuts in the world, taking all sorts of different forms.
