I haven't led a guild for 3 years, and I don't plan on doing it again. It's not my fault people I helped build up almost from scratch ditched me to chase pixels with zerg guilds as soon as they didn't need me anymore. That says more about them than it does about me.

Saw this thread growing in pages, so decided to see what the fuss was about?

At my age I still dont understand why people care so much about what others do to their bodies or what they put into and out of them, considering that life on the planet is pretty harsh, brutal and completely indolent to anybodys view of country, politics, religion and even self.

Everybody here needs to breath in and out for at least a minute and enjoy the pixel fun.

I love you all , even the haters, also love green so much!

Shame that the drama has /moved here as well, but hey, it makes fun reading as my necro meds

I know there is a minority that want the name changed in spite of this individual, but I think the large majority just want it changed because it's in violation of the rules. I wasn't aware of the rules in regards to names until I saw this thread, and I am waiting to have my names changed to follow the rules. If for whatever reason they can't, I will just restart and delete the characters in violation.

I don't think it has anything to do with civil liberties or bigotry. I understand the importance of consistency with character names in a high fantasy world. Do not forget the rpg aspect of mmorpg.

Yes but on the other hand part of an mmorpg is community and people's names bring individual flare vs some random mess of vowels barfed up by a fantasy generator and nobody's name stands out. I'm not saying we need Michael Jordans running around, but if you read the naming policy, and follow it to the letter, almost every other name on the server is in violation. The last time they did a purge like this a Dark Elf necro named "Idol" was nuked. It was over the top.

I just disagree fundamentally, but I do understand the point you are making. There are plenty of unique random gen names, and plenty of good unique made up names I've seen. nobody cares about a character's name until they start pissing people off. were all better off if we were rid of the no-celebrity names rule, and manastones too while were at it.
