Here, I'll just post it. IB reads our forums whenever they want, anyway. I'm sure someone reads theirs too [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This is just a quick write-up for new clerics who can be a bit overwhelmed about what the fuck to do in VP. It's fast paced and never really explained to the new apps as far as I know. Belegur asked on his own and it made me realize that this kind of thing maybe isn't second nature.

1) The prep.

VP is 6 dragons. 4/6 are MR. The way VP is split at the current time (6/14/2014) is 4 MR first then DR/FR. Generally want to be camped out with MR gear, MR buffs, and MR pot clicked. If you plan to raid VP that weekend be logged out inside the zone. Clerics need to be some of the first people in to form effective groups. Group healing is over twice as efficient from a speed perspective (all that matters in 90% of VP engages). Rune is super important, especially for Hosh + Nexona. Topslot jboots for nexona. heroic bond instead of heroism super important on nexona as well.

2) Forming effective groups

This is where we struggle. Two groups take priority. Tank then DPS groups.

a) When zoning in, yell if anyone is forming a tank group, if no response, yell for bards + tanks to send you a tell and form it yourself. Most tank groups are 1-2 tanks, 1 bard, 1 shaman, remainder clerics. At least 2 clerics in tank group (one to maintain group and one to heal tank). Group healing is heroic bond (with WoR in emergency situations and super good if you happen to be in a hosh group without a shield--especially just prior to gating phase.

b) DPS groups are formed when you know the tank group is set. DPS groups are cleric + 5 dps, cleric + 1 healer + 4 dps, or cleric + bard + 4 dps. DPS are rogues, monks, wizards. Monks/rogues will prioritize shield (of the immaculate) groups for hoshkar and shielders should be doing the invites for hoshkar for the most effective dps. If you are without a shield, form 2 clerics + 4 wizards for hoshkar. 1 cleric + 1 healer + 4 wizards can also work in a pinch if clerics are light, but they haven't been recently. Cleric + bard + 4 dps is extremely useful for nexona due to the bard dispel song and people not buying potions of negation. Load cancel magic to assist if one of your dps did not bring a potion of negation and you are bardless.

c) Xygoz is a special exception to group formation. It's usually just 5 clerics + bard, if there are large amounts of bards wizards can also be incorporated into your groups, but they're definitely second priority.

3) Healing during fights

a) Tank group healing is generally split into one group healer and one or more tank healers, depending on group set up. These shouldn't be the only heals going to the tank but all too often they are. Heroic bond spam for group healing can keep up with every dragon's aoe with the possible exception of hoshkar. Starting with a rune and pre casting / ducking HB waiting on the first aoe on the raid is key on hoshkar. The only way to solo heal a group back from a deficit on hoshkar is WoR, which you'll generally only get to cast once before getting aggroed and murdered. Tank heals are primarily DL spam with the shaman torporing. If no shaman present in tank group feel free to throw a CE, but try to communicate you are doing it with the tank (le macro) so he isn't buff-capped when CE lands.

b) DPS group healing is primarily heroic bond spam. Pre-casting and ducking hb is key on the harder hitting dragons, hoshkar especially. On nexona, make sure DPS have heroic bond and not heroism, because heroic bond will overwrite heroism when cast and top slot the buff. This may put nexona's aoe under the player's buff stack and make dispelling much more difficult for that player. WoR can be used to overcome a deficit and it is especially important on hoshkar if you're healing a melee group without a shield. Also super useful on trakanon for similar reasons, but be wary of out-aggroing the jugg kiter with WoR. Even if he has a bladestopper, the shit is that ridiculous.

4) Post fight

Run, camp, buff. No issues here. Quest your fucking soulfires / necklace of resolutions / reapers of the dead. Guild will pay for your reaper recharge, shit is cash. Use it.

Any comments of additions are welcomed.

There are those who would say the same of cleric, and yet tanks go down without heals all the time on these rushed dragons. In fact, I wrote a vp guide I feel I should share with IB today for clerics. It's simple but useful kinda stuff.
Never go against the Family again Heallun.

I cannot comprehend the level of depravity required to care this much about pixels. Yet at the same time TMO has hundreds of members and they have competition who want to do the same worthless "accomplishments" more efficiently.

It's not just fuck TMO, it's fuck this depraved human species.

Lol +1. GMs know EQ is about community, not skill.
