While in bda, slydexx got :

Epic
Bcg
Insignia protector
Sky ring from bee queen

..and that's only from the top of my head. But yeah, he definitely deserved a necro epic item.. Over necros that have been in that guild way longer than him (ho hi Ossomorte). Won't even point the fact that it wasn't even awarded, but borrowed. Won't even point the fact that he was the best geared wiz in bda beside Sanluen.. Who doesnt have an insignia protector or a sky ring.
he was probably geared like that because he deserved it? Talking about loot he earned while in the guild has nothing to do with he eye...

No, I have a very sound understanding of how a guild bank works, I just think issues like this are exactly why the concept of a "guild bank" doesn't really work at all. When you don't ascribe ownership to items and instead give ownership to a conceptual entity such as a guild you run into issues like this. Look at what happened to other guild banks when guilds have quit the server. How many IB members do you think got their fair share of the IB guild bank? I'm not defending what Slydexx did, but I do think it is ridiculous how some of you are shitting on him for taking an item that he and many current FE members likely partook in attaining, especially considering you have two more of them sitting in bank and haven't even attempted to kill CT in months.

All I'm saying is this isn't a black and white theft if you think about the ambiguous nature of guilds as a whole owning items.
And yet you completely ignore Jarn's post. Sly was plenty geared without stealing items from the guild bank.

@Max He did deserve the loot Jarn mentions, BDA is not disputing that. But the eye was never his, it was never awarded to him on a permanent basis. Yet his lone decision makes it permanent.

not every guild that disbands or goes kaput does shady shit like IB

seriously tho, are you new to eq? or to being in a guild? i cant speak for other guilds but in BDA we work for the betterment of BDA, when items are awarded to participants they are usually given to the person that has A. put in the work to deserve a reward and B. will be the most likely to use said item to make BDA a stronger entity

keep in mind im not on the loot council or an officer but ive been around for long enough to see how they work, the only people you will hear bitching about the way BDA distributes loot are the people who's greed got passed over for another's need and are most likely no longer in the guild anyways

What he said. Also, when VD split we all met in freeport and randomed off the guild bank. I think this cs634214 guy just likes to see responses to his moronic posts.

Where this 'FE deserves half the BDA guildbank' logic breaks down is that I strongly suspect that the BDA guildbank is hardly overflowing with items. This isn't TMO/IB where the leadership occasionally denies requests for epics for 3rd alts. BDA has (had) a huge membership and rarely gets targets. If TMO broke into two pieces the new guild might have a case, but even there . . . having tried to lead a guild for a bit (and a very, very casual guild at that) it's a lot of work.

P.S. What happened to the 'we are here for the good of the server' stuff FE?

BDA - The guild who does loot so fairly that the bulk of their hard core raiders left to join FE. Gotcha.

Seriously, the #1 complaint I've heard from just about every past BDA member I've spoken to has been favoritism in awarding loot. You must have been one of the favorites.

Loot Council is always going to have a twinge of favoritism, there's not much that can be done about that. However, you stated BDA and hardcore raiders in the same sentence. BDA was never a hardcore raid guild, and as history indicates, didn't do so hot when it was shoe-horned into the roll. So obviously the hardcore raiders went to a new home. Things work best when a spade is called a spade.

i love this whole implied logic that bda officer leadership hoards all the loot, its such bullshit. if and when they do get awarded items they are definitely deserved, bda officers are some of the the hardest working people ive met and go above and beyond the call of duty regularly to ensure that bda stays alive. for the record tho im not an officer but heres a quick list of what i was awarded while i raided

Mrylo Bp(won it on a joint raid with divinity while TMO were on one of their many vacations)
EoN
RBB
Stanos Head(for my high elf guise)

along with full planar and almost complete sky gear

obviously bda officers hold a monopoly over all the loot /rollseyes

obviously

heres the real kicker tho, when i decided to take a break from the game... i gave all of it including my account info(since obviously alot of it is no drop) to another member of BDA so that the items would still be able to benefit the guild. what a shocker!!
