Sucks your mandate resulted in such a narrow majority.

What a silly statement. What party is in control of the house, senate and presidency?

Since DOGE no longer has control of the Treasury I would have just said ignore everyone and just print the money.

But since DOGE doesn't currently have control of the Treasury why don't you whine about the insanity and need to impeach a judge who rules against Elon.

You know Elon who was being investigated by USAID, Department of Defense, Department of Education, U.S. Treasury, Department of Homeland Security, General Services Administration, Office of Personnel Management, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Elon who feels vengeful towards some of these agencies.

Trexller honest question since you work with the water company in (Not that area) does any of this affect you? Note I said not that area because I don't want to talk about the state you are working in.

Trump, Musk move to oust EPA staff in the Great Lakes region, including dozens responsible for protecting drinking water for 30 million in US and Canada

Or not really has nothing to do with your job or your area?

I doubt it will have much impact on anything. As long as you don't have industrial waste flowing directly into a public water source nobody is actually gonna do anything. If some agency wanted to spend it's resources to investigate why there are chemicals or heavy metals in the water they can but it would take months or years and by the time they figure out the source, often times whatever discharge into the water isn't occuring anymore so you rarely get a smoking gun of a chemical company laughing as they dump in the environment, they'll go after things like farm fertilizer runoff because you can just look at a map and know it's probably happening there

utilities like water and power operate under this understanding that, "You cannot fuck this up" like it goes beyond any kind of politics or economics, it's not something that politicians are really gonna screw around with. If one day we decided we were gonna shut off valves or pull a joker and dump chemicals into the water, the US Army would come kick us out and start doing our jobs. There are actual plans for that.

The EPA doesn't get in our way, central PA is also blessed with a literal fuck load of mountain springs that spout clean water, our water doesn't flow from hundreds of miles away like other places

having said that ill take every opportunity to inform people that it's alot more likely that there is small amounts of hazardous materials in your tap water and if you care about your home drinking water you'd use reverse osmosis or a filter system like the Zero brand.

every town and city has pipes that were installed wrong, or installed 100 years ago, or cracked because the ground shifted, or are literally made of lead, or lead solder was used, or have infectious bacteria, or whatever other reason for contamination

the tap water is just barely safe enough to call drinking water, and no agency let alone the EPA can change that

Following Varad and them on X, they said something like it wasn't even that judge's case and the judiciary isn't allowed to proscribe actions that are the core/legitimate powers of executive agencies. I think.

Why would USAID “investigate” Elon though? Why would investigations even be a part of humanitarian aid? I tried skimming around and couldn’t find an explanation of why USAID was tasked with investigating Elon (or Tesla or something) especially in lieu of an actual investigation agency like the FBI or the FTC? Not that I don’t believe you, I just didn’t skim long enough to find out how and why this “investigation” of Elon by USAID of all places was happening

It is unfortunate in articles about USAID many did say they deliver food and medicine to lots of people. Whether you agree that we should be doing that or not, stopping it will create some suffering

Where did you hear that?

This is all I could find with some cursory looking:

The administration’s 90-day freeze on foreign aid, a stop-work order to review agency operations and the abrupt closure of USAID’s headquarters have stalled the aid distribution system, despite the administration’s claim that “life-saving humanitarian assistance” would be allowed to continue

- A 90 day freeze is a freeze. I don’t think it means “still send the baby formula though”

But then would critical items resume after 90 days? Or is the agency going to be shut down?
