Why are polls a popularity contest? They call you and ask if you think Biden is doing a good job or not. If people could afford stuff like gasoline and food, his poll numbers would be much better.

Or if Democrats in Congress were unified and could pass legislation that the vast majority of Americans support, his poll numbers would likely go up. Problem is vast majority of Americans dont understand basic civics and who is truly to blame for our inability as a country to even address basic problems.
Unfortunately corruption has infected a few of them (we know who the two are), with lobbyists and special interests dangling post-congressional career board positions and lucrative salaries, some of them just dont have the integrity and fortitude to do whats right for their constituents or for the country. Not to mention their personal investments in oil gas and coal.
And then you have Ted Cruz trying to get the Supreme Court to throw out a law which forbids candidates from taking bribes. And since many of the posters in this thread likely do not understand what this is about - its about candidates lending their campaigns money at ridiculously high interest rates (like 20% or more) and then repaying themselves that loan, with interest, from campaign coffers after the election.
The problem is that many special interest groups can contribute large sums of money during the campaign, and then candidates can then extract that money (remember 20% interest) after they win the election. So Ted Cruz (and others of course) essentially wants to pocket that 20% interest in campaign contributions which were given by corporations and special interest groups.
Which is, you guessed it, basically like taking a bribe. If you dont think there isnt a quid pro quo there, you are truly foolish. Ted Cruz wants to legalize bribery, plain and simple, and no one... no one, should be in support of that regardless of your political affiliation.
