Global ooc, faster experience, legalizing training, and ignoring griefing all encourage or facilitate exploiting. Yes, you would attract people that want to load up MQ chase someone around and kill them over and over while spamming global ooc with racial epithets and obscenities vztz style if you managed to successfully lobby for these changes. Is that what you really want? Do you even need an EQ emulator to pursue those activities? This is what killed the population on previous pvp boxes and has discouraged many of us from leveling on r99. If you want the staff to increase the population then ban the antisocial griefers and show those of us on the sidelines that this box won't turn in to a neglected cesspool like the pvp boxes which preceded it.

No, dude, I think the only thing people are discussing here is chat.

This has nothing to do with griefing or training.

If you arent prepared for griefing and training, regardless if ooc is in or not, then you shouldnt be playing a red server? Your logic is completely flawed.

Turn on OOC, if you dont want to read it then mute it, fucking simple as that. Server is at 100 people online, while blue has 700. I mean 100? dude thats so low for a server with the staff and hardware it has, im sorry.

Rex, on a pvp server you cannot afford to turn off global ooc. As soon as it is enabled you are forced to read the rantings of cast and naez in order to gain the information necessary to be competitive in pvp. No human being should ever be subjected to that.

100 people on the red box is an accomplishment at this point by the way. After the failings of the previous iterations anything above 25 people is progress.

Jirr, we can keep making the red server wear a blue dress and we can see how that goes. Polling is a very fair method of measuring what players want. Go look at the global OOC poll results as they stand currently. This isn't even up for debate.

Someone trolls OOC, you /ignore them or just /filter ooc (to get the exact same experience as we have now, which is nothing)

It is no different than these forums or IRC. You arguing against this is like saying the forums should be turned off.

Polling here isn't too accurate considering that everytime a troll gets a temp ban they just make another forum account.

How many accounts do you think folks like Cast and Steaks have to throw at any poll they want?

Stop duplicate forum accounts and polls would be relevant.

Turning global off is not an option on a pvp server as it deprives you of necessary pvp information. Sadly leaving ooc on forces you to attend a 24/7 klan rally where sad lonely people flood the server with their vitriol. Global ooc will only work if there is a dedicated staff to monitor and police it, and that just isn't feasible. Even Blizzard has given up on policing their chat channels and limited chat instead.

Also, 100 people is not this server's average nightly population, it's closer to 150 (as it has been for the past few months).

lol no its not, the average is 100, 125 at good times and usually 39- 40 in the mornings lol.
1) u can turn off ooc so, so if u dont want to see it u dont have to
2) they can put a lvl 5 or 6 lvl limit on ooc and also make it where u can only say like 3 or 4 lines every 15 20 seconds so u cant spam spam it.
3) there needs to be some way to interact with the rest of the server, if not global ooc, make a new channel thats optional for poeple to join.
4) ooc does not lead to greifing, thats YT, if the guy is going to greif you, you are gonna get greifed anyway global ooc or not, YT now thats different.

There is truth to this, what is the fun in killing someone 257 times in a row while they are afk at work if you have no audience to brag to?

Global OOC will only promote more griefing
. This is not true, if global ooc was in, someone could of possibly told that guy he was still logged in if they started to brag about it, which is the oppsite of what you are saying. NO Global ooc probably made him get killed 257 times, or just had no effect on the situation at all.
