white privilege blinds most of you guys, it's sad really. i'm half white, but i'm not stuck on this "Oh, well so what if they had a rough spot in history" you don't understand, they still get shit on to this day.

this country has deep rooted institutional racism, just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there. you usually won't see things unless you know what you're looking for. I used to be blind myself, i had numerous debates when i was younger with black friends about their views on white privilege, and how i thought it was bs. eventually i had an epiphany.

I'm gonna take a chance at giving trolls some future ammo...because this is absolute truth. My whole family is black. I'm a Steve Martin in The Jerk kinda guy (even though I'm half Native American, which has its own historical perspective)...and I'm not saying this to make anyone think I'm "down with the brown" 'cuz I seriously don't give a rat's ass...instead I'm saying I have some insight. My 10 brothers and sisters - ya, I said 10 - all work for a living, and none of them are on welfare.

I work as a security supervisor for coal mine sites in WV. It ain't blacks stealing copper wire from mine sites, and breakers from deep miners...it's the fricking cracker meth heads. And to those of you who think WV doesn't have entire communities that are primarily black and have some notion that Deliverance is the norm, you're sadly mistaken.

Back on point. Coal mines own WV. In most mines across the state, you won't see a single black. Not a coincidence...because I can tell you firsthand that the security firm I work for (which is owned by the same company that owns the mines, go figure) has an unwritten policy not to hire blacks. Can't happen? Not in this day and age? Believe it...money talks, corruption walks. The worst part is...one of my brothers actually owns a PI/Security firm here, has several years behind him as a cop, and was a personal bodyguard for several celebs...and he can't get a job where I work. I was told flat out I couldn't hire him....officially because it may be a "conflict of interest", but behind closed doors it was "we won't hire blacks". Civil liberties? This wouldn't be the coal owners' first trip on that merry-go-round...and they don't lose.

This is just a microcosm...a reflection of what exists in the rest of the country but is diluted and obfuscated. It's an invasive, pervasive cancer, and things won't change because the money belongs to the massahs...the "good 'ole boys" and their networks.

It also saddens me to see this community has so many racists. Usually, bigotry is the order of the day, and that's OK, because stupidity and ignorance can be overlooked...but the pure hatred pouring out of some of the people here disgusts me.

See the problem isn't that anyone here is denying that racism exists and has a negative effect on a large portion of our society. The problem is that NO MATTER HOW RACIST EVERYONE AROUND THEM IS NOTHING EXCUSES PEOPLE FROM ACTING THE WAY SUBWAY DUDE FROM EARLIER DESCRIBED. NO AMOUNT OF RACISM EXCUSES PEOPLE PURPOSELY HAVING BABIES TO MAKE MONEY.

Unfortunately people like to turn a blind eye to the reality of the ignorance some people display and excuse it as them being poor disenfranchised, disrespected, and discriminated against souls who's only crime was to be born with dark skin. That's bullshit and the people who say stupid shit like that are these reason these people will stay poor ignorant indecent pieces of shit for life and for generations. No one holds them accountable for their actions? How do you think they are going to act? What do you think they are going to teach their children?

Racism doesn't excuse you from being accountable for your behavior. I don't know to what degree of white guilt you have to reach before that seems like acceptable behavior but it scares me.
