Can you PROVE that you're out of popcorn or are you just going to spam that you have a popcorn meter that uses an incorrect calculation to show us the volume that your popcorn bowl can hold?

This thread reminds me of this guy who was playing shaman that joined my guild after playing EQ for the first time on Project 1999 in the Summer of 2024. They did "research" into the most effective ways to do combat as a shaman - including scouring these very forums for "info" about how the game mechanics work.

They spent the next 6 months arguing with everybody they came into contact with about the "most efficient" way to solo as a shaman. I found myself trapped in a loop with them - they always said, with confidence, things that contradicted my first-hand experience (having levelled 3 shaman to 60 on P99 Green since 2021).

This rubbed me, and others the wrong way - so I just put them on /ignore after a few weeks seeing various arguments others (and myself) would have in /guild with them. The general consensus around the person was that they were a know-it-all that refused to ever admit fault in their logic, and furthermore: this guy was a fool for trying to tell people who have been playing P99 regularly for years that their first-hand experience was invalid.

Guy quit p99 before the calendar dinged 2025, but in a short time he really made a name for himself as a jackass.

Arguing can be a good thing but when it is two people fighting over intangible bullshit and then everyone that doesn't like those arguing pile on for 20 pages of bullshit is just lame.

A lot of people on here need to learn to agree to disagree and just drop it instead of poisoning every thread. There's excellent info on here but when it becomes invariably buried under 40 pages of crap it does a disservice to everyone.

The pile on is the problem, I agree. These threads always start normal, and then a poster like Samoht will come in and start trolling. Other trolls pile on. It's been a problem for years. When people disagree with them they will post anything to ruin the conversation.

Unfortunately no one else calls out this bad behavior, so the trolls have a perfect environment. Often times people side with the trolls too. This ends up encouraging the trolls to keep going. I've been telling people to call out this behavior for years, but they don't. So the problem continues.

All three of them could make an RnF post instead. But you never do. Posters like these derail threads instead because they think discrediting posters will scare them away from the forums. You simply can't handle people disagreeing with you.
