Nobody is gatekeeping anything. People are free to grow up and not be babies any time they want. If somebody is being a dick to you in game /ignore them or /petition them and move on. This is literally called "rants and flames" and shitting on one another is a sacred tradition not just within p99 but everquest generally. OP called the community I am part of toxic. I do not believe it is toxic, the vast majority of interactions I have with other players are positive. Therefor op is a baby and needs to fuck off immediately.

I always felt that people acting like ass hats added flavor to the game.

Best experience I had was in red server, I Had just joined and was talked in to meeting another char near the wiz rings in gfay to get some starter gear. He smashed my face in with his twinkness and then told me to get fucked when I tried to get my starter gear back.

That story still puts a smile on my face to this day. Unfortunately red is dead.

Imma agree with this fine fellow. Never before have I witnessed so many mentally disabled cucks doing everything they can to weasel their way into a camp or money or for funsies. This is a toxic as fuck community. Other communities have a lot of shit talk and trolling, but EQ lends itself to the unemployed sweating their blubber wrists across couch cushions, as they meld further with the fabric and do wicked things to get their pixels and plat.

Some of it comes down to the competition, and only those without a life can truly take advantage of that. That's understandable. But the shit I've seen on this server makes me legitimately think that someone played a prank on P99 by going across the country and installing the game at mentally handicap summer camps. So. Many. Illiterate. Fucking. Retards.

What the OP needs to learn is fuck the play nice policy.

Nice should be the default. But the second you catch a whiff of a nolifer you need to grief and internet bully them mercilessly. What's the worst that will happen? They ban your account?

Cute cherry pick. Go down a bit more and pluck the piece where I mentioned nice should be default, but when you witness scum, it's time to out scum them.
