It's the antithesis of thoughtless consumerism and yet it serves the same hollow function behind product placement. He was wearing his cornflower blue tie. Forget the fact that it's easier to criticize than it is to create, even when those critiques are done in an orderly manner (bug forums section). After all, this entire project is devoted to recognizing and cataloging what you described except, instead of directors and actors, there are developers and players at work. Similarly, most outsiders wouldn't be able to understand why anyone would ever participate in this, the painstaking reconstruction of an old and increasingly obscure virtual world...and they would also dismiss all knowledge of it as a waste of neurons. That’s an excellent post, Ennewi! To iterate my point less rudely, it’s not a personal interest of mine. I’m fairly anti-celebrity, which I assume is where the disconnect occurs and that is fine. People have different opinions. The phenomenon of people being wrong who don’t like the things I like and vice versa isn’t a new thing to me. I just acknowledge the fact those person are my mortal enemies from that point forward, and then plot ways to destroy them. In this world of clashing opinions, it’s important to know how to deal with people.
