The issue is is that every Velious zone and boss was completely trivial the -second- Velious dropped (and everyone had also done beta raids for over a year as well as had already played the content on other servers)

Growth is the only zone that hasn't been completely trivialized and has a "classic" raid experience - hours of grueling trash clearing as opposed to sitting at zone ent counting your DKP waiting for phats. This makes the "raid" nerds -very- frustrated, hence why nobody goes in the zone and there are so few Tunare lootz (which is actually "classic")

So, who is "mad" here? The players who are calling this for what it is or the guild leadership that has to pull an emergency PR campaign to keep them from looking bad?

Friends, the people who "get mad" on this server are not the nubs who think they are "entitled" to some boss shinies even though they didn't "put in the work." The people on this server who ~actually~ "get mad" are the same people that need to recruit scrubs to help them clear shitty Growth trash saying its so they can "see new content" yet not let them roll on boss loots and instead let them have the Kael-equivalent scraps they wouldn't even loot for their alts as if they're doing them a favor (piss on my leg and tell me its raining)

There are so many Chardok AoE powerleveled toons on this server that they should easily be able to clear the zone without any outside help. If they didn't need the help why would they be asking? They're not letting the rest of the server sit in ToV every week and wait on the durgon piñata and "experience new content."

Open raids are great for the server and do allow players to see raid zones they normally wouldn't see. The issue here is that this absolutely -is- a thinly-veiled attempt at getting ringers to clear raid trash. Everyone calling out this bullshit isn't "wrong."

There will be people that go on this raid and that's fine and wonderful. Personally, I'm not sitting around all day on a Saturday killing millions of HP worth of trash so a nub Awakened officer can get a Tunare drop. Many others feel the same way. Theres enough plvled wizard alts in Awakened with many BiS slots that sit camped all day that they should be able to get their shit together somehow and AoE it (thats way too much work though)

It really is nice that we can share the toys in our little sandbox once in a while but don't let Awakened tell you for one second that they're doing you a favor by letting you come clear trash for them. Id rather make those nerds actually work for their loot for once.

This statement makes no sense. Tunare was farmed for months and months and killed dozens of times with only a handful of open event clears. Tunare has been killed probably 95% of the time with no pugs. People can bitch about A/A killing a lot of mobs but it's just ludicrous trolling to complain they don't work to do it.

Look, a couple of other people have sugar coated this and I will be a little less kind. I think it's a nice thing to allow pugs to be involved in a clear and get a new experience they wouldn't otherwise but if someone thinks that having pugs is some huge benefit to Awakened they are pretty f-ing ignorant of this game. Pugs are just as likely to cause a huge slowdown to a clear as they are to speed it up. Would 70 people clear PoG faster than 35? Log in or Register.] they are pretty likely to kill somethings faster but cause some wipes/slowdowns. Not a huge time saver.

Awakened has done Growth numerous times in the past and having not done it lately makes it more of a novelty right now. Stop pretending like Awakened couldn't clear Growth without pugs.

No one is forcing anyone to come. It is clearly stated what will not be available to everyone. Please stop trying to pretend like that isn't the case.

I honestly have trouble trying to figure out which is more inane, thinking that Awakened is worried about some bullshit PR folly (because you know mob kills are based on popular election) or that Tunare loot should be randomed on. I can't even imagine how enraged people would be if someone rolled in for the last 20 minutes of the raid and won a roll on Tunare loot. You might be so upset with the out come and the unfairness that you setup a group or regular players to play with and a system by which loot could be distributed fairly. You know, maybe something where raids have an associated value of points and past raid work is tallied together so that players in your raid group are able to obtain loot commensurate with the work they have put in prior instead of arbitrarily giving loot in a randomly generated fashion.

In summary, if clearing PoG with an experienced raid that is provided to you and getting a chance at drops doesn't sound like something you want to do, don't come. The clear will probably still happen and you can instead do whatever you were going to do or sit around thinking about who was really doing who a favor. Or since Tunare is up most of the time you could form your own raid to go kill her and make your own loot rules.

Awakened does not NEED anyone for PoG, In fact having people green to the raid scene and unclear of how agro transfer works could make it a longer clear. This was put together so our members could have a chance to raid with some new people and have a good time and for newer members of the community to get a taste of what PoG is like for those who have never been there. Why let gear rot when someone could put it to good use?

This is not the first time this has happened and they have been a huge success with tons of people walking away with sweet loots they would never get from their small guild of friends.

Luckily people do not listen to forum trolls much and I am expecting a healthy number of random players to attend, See ya there!

Read as 'anyone disagreeing with our obviously shady setup is a just a troll!'. As mentioned there have been plenty of open raids (AG/paradox hosted etc) which are great for server health and allow more casual players a FAIR AND EQUAL raiding experience - however this is not one of them.

Your choice of wording is leading, manipulative and suggests that your actions are altruistic. If this was the case then all of the pixels would be open rolled and not reserved for AW members only. Is a man not entitled to a share of the rewards that he works towards? Your rebuttal will be 'well they are allowed to roll on the lesser pixels that drop!' which only further proves my point.

Paradox/AG was not the first guild to do a open raid or set any standards. This is not the first open PoG raid and I doubt it will be the last. The amount of effort and logistics needed to make this happen along with our members doing about 90-95% of the work is why Tunare's loot is reserved, Again we do not need anyone's help(The difference between Paradox raid/AW raids) ....We are just offering people the chance to come and hang.

Dragon spawn at random times, you would have to be on our batphone to attend those events - www.awakenedguild.com

Just wanna repeat that Tunare's loot table is currently bugged. She has no guarantee to drop her unique loot and if she is slain very likely could have 3 BPs that also drop from the other named which are all open for rolling. Looking forward to seeing some new faces in PoG gear.

We actually invited ParaDIGM Shift to several of our raids and shared loot in the recent past and now they are starting to compete against AW and AM on some content. They are A+ currently and I am glad to see them stepping into the scene on their own.

What's this have to do with public raids and open rolls? Is this POG raid for anyone that wants to come or are you doing it with another guild and splitting loot? I don't get it.

Having an alliance and killing a mob with a guild is not even close to the same as doing an open raid on arguably the most miserable and time consuming place then not letting anyone roll on the actual good loot.
