That's the nub of the issue. When you allow everyone to legally carry guns around, the story gets to be told by the last man standing. That's why every other civilized country has decided that citizens carrying guns around is a bad idea. The "cause celebre" (btw, you couldn't be a more punchable faggot) was that it was clear to any thinking person that the only reason Zimmerman wasn't in jail was because there were no witnesses, not because the letter of the law wasn't followed. that's not clear at all, and it's why our legal system is set up the way it is. because people like you, generally with poor reasoning skills and strong opinions, make large deductive leaps without sufficient factual information. it is not "clear to any thinking person" that zimmerman committed any crime at all. if it were, it would be clear "beyond a reasonable doubt". but it's not. the letter of the law wasn't the issue here. the issue was what actually happened. only one living person knows.

and citizens carrying around guns beats the alternative. abridging liberties and rendering vast percentages of the populace utterly incapable of self-defense is hardly preferable to the unfortunate number of gun crimes committed by otherwise law-abiding citizens.
