Examples of sperglords. One out of eight of them has a real job and they aren't teenagers. Look at any top 8 list from any big MTG tournament and you'll see a recurring pattern (and no it's not the same people always at top 8).

The reason most of these people don't work "real" jobs is because the people that typically top 8 at these tournaments invest a LOT of time into their game. Half of the list make a living at cardshops/mtg content sites/"mtg".

Similiarly, in the professional video gaming scene a majority of the pro-gamers do not have "real jobs" as you put it. This is because they spend 10 hours a day gaming and becoming good at what they do, and because they are so good at it they receive enough cash to make a living for playing a video game.

That is also the reason you see the same names over and over again in M:TG top 8's. People with "real jobs" typically do not have 8-9 hours a day to sit around and theorycraft/play magic or play video games, therefore (not accounting for the rare fluke) they will never be in a position where their hobby can actually becoming sustaining.

Anyone who has ever been a "proffesional" at anything really.. LoL, M:TG, Doctors, lawyers, etc. each and every one of those people has spends thousands and thousands of hours honing their craft and becoming the best that they can be at it.

Professional magic players aren't even playing the same damn game you are. Casuals buy cards and build decks because they have elves and dragons and shit that looks cool and fun on them. Professionals only see manacosts, card advantage, turn-clocks, and "the right play".

Don't get upset with them simply because they're not playing the same game you are, or you want them to be playing. You're playing for fun, they're playing for a living.

This. There are a lot of sperglords on this server, but as far as raw numbers and content goes, definately anime. I wish we could wipe every fucking weebo that doesn't contribute to society and sits around eatting pockey and wasabi peas while jerking it to 14 year-old cartoon characters off the face of the earth.

Those that are gainfully employeed and watch it every now and then for the storyline are fine. But fuck weebos man.
