Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't "net cash farm income" more or less referring to subsidized revenue payments for cash crops per bushel/barrel/bundle etc and not necessarily government assistance in paying for the equipment as an investment?

You're not wrong, but note that the share of subsidies marked as "personal" income is deceptively low compared with the percentage of subsidized income to the business. I can't speak to the particulars of every Republican welfare program in the country, but the stats indicate that there are strings attached to the subsidy which demand the cash be placed back into the business.

These farmers are essentially sharecroppers whose equipment and farming infrastructure is purchased and owned by the government and not considered "personal". Riding a $200k machine uncle sam lent you is not the same as having $200k liquid cash to invest in your business. These people are not impressively wealthy.

I have to tell you , some of the biggest rednecks in the world have the most money lol. I sell heavy equipment and we laugh that the rule of thumb is ... Denim Overalls = big spender. Then to one up that if the guy has a deere hat.. shit got real and we all fight over the customer. true story

just to clarify I don't oppose farm subsidies; they're an investment in production which we sorely need more of in the US. But broke white hicks bragging about the expensive shit the rest of us paid for is on par with Mr. Ebt swipe swipe swipin.

For one - I don't own a farm, nor have I ever paid for a 100k+ tractor/farm equipment.

For two - The farmers around here pay for their own shit and receive little to no assistance (the form that you would consider "welfare"). They don't brag about what they spend and neither was I.

I was simply stating that "That just because one resides in Alabama, doesn't mean he can't afford a video game."

Not every farm is the same. Just because "retard sam" ran his farm into the ground and borrowed more than he should have and now works for the government/bank, it does not mean they all have.
