this looks really sweet, DAOC is that one game I always wanted to get into but just played EQ instead.

what is server pop like?
698 on at 1:20 PM EST.

This is a clean number for the most part, the server rules match P99's in many ways, including the "no-boxing/buffboting" rule.

Monday Night RAW Stats:

The RPs Gain are only so low because I capped out, meaning I can't gain any more RP in this pvp zone, despite still being under the level cap of 35. This is just to show you guys the kind of action that can still happen at 10PM EST time, and you don't need to be a/in Euro to have a good time. We had some really nice 8v8 action against the Albs.

how is it consistently at 7:00PM EST...when I played it was low but would love to see interest picked up and decent US time pop.

There's always action, time of day is hardly relevant. All you gotta remember is that Euros are anywhere from 5-8 hours ahead of EST, even if there's only 100 players on, there's still be lots of action going on.

I tried this about 2 years ago. It was fun but the graphics for one of hte cities wouldn't load and I kept falling through the parts that didn't load. I quit and lost the installation.

How large is the installation again? I seem to remember having to download several hundred MBs, then having to patch it for another 2 to 3 GBs. I'm on DSL and can download speed is only about 92 KB/s at best. It's a pain. I need to start using DVDs to backup sh** because I hate this download/redownload routine.

I upgraded my system in sept 2010. God, it has been almost a year. TIME #%!!@# FLIES. This system is used but it has done me well so far. Only bad thing is having to oil the cpu fan. Anyway, with a better system I'm sure that I would enjoy the DAOC classic server more than I did then. (old computer was circa 2000 tech)

I never tried DAOC in its prime. I've always felt bad about that.

There's so much to play in this world. It has made me believe there're a trillion trillion different ways to make any game and a trillion trillion ways to do it wrong. This universe is complex. I'm just 1 person. There're almost 7 billion years worth of human experience in the past year. I just represent 1 of those years.

(i'm sure it's more than a trillion trillion)

Effectiveness of a melee/bow spec Hunter:
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Despite what most people think, Hunters can be VERY nice DPS and can solo really well too! Check out the health of the named before it even gets to me, from bow damage, and that's not even full Bow spec! I can even take down orange cons with ease without even having to use my summoned pet, it's so damn nice I was even thinking of making a hunter of my own!

For those who don't know, Hunters get this ability called Critical Shot which gives a 100% chance to crit on the first shot as long as the target isn't damaged yet, the damage potential is % based and increases the higher you spec in Bow. Hunters also get some nice utility spells such as: Self-AF Buff, Self-Dex/Qui Buff (Bow and Spear damage both rely on DEX just like EQ, while QUI is how fast you can attack and shoot arrows, it actually lowers the delay quite significantly), Summonable Pet - 80% of Hunter's level, and....the ability to Charm Animals and Insects! And unlike most other classes, these Charm abilities though very limited are also permanent - meaning it won't randomly break on you!

If anyone wanted to play a Ranger type class within our crew, go for it! You won't be disappointed.

How classic is Uthgard? Project 1999 is striving to be as close as possible. Is there any customization in Uthgard or content pass classic enabled?

I know that DAOC claimed to make classic servers at one point but they were not classic. Is this the case with the emulator server?
