What exactly do you perceive as working in China that isn't working better in America/The West?

Pretty alarming that people here are so anti-American they are willing to ignore genocide and slave labor based on religious beliefs. I guess when you think all structures of hierarchy are based on oppression and power it's easy to dismiss any and all positives that come from these systems.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

― C. S. Lewis

These people legitimately believe they are right on a fundamental level.

Stop tilting windmills, Fathersyou.

You're straw manning me into a bogey man.

The fact you're asking what I perceive as working in China but not in The West evidences that I certainly haven't claimed things are working better in China than The West - I was pretty explicit that Communism failed - not that 2020 China is what would be classically considered communist.

China found a new and exciting way to be horrible basically; enjoy the spoils of capitalism with the top down authoritarian dictatorial control of centralized communism at the highest levels.

It really does make sense from a pure efficiency standpoint, which is why they are poised to overtake the US as the main global superpower. You just have to ignore any moral scruples you have to endorse such a system, which is ironic because woke lefty idiots are currently berating the US for being evil and bad. It would be great if gretta thunberg or whatever could say even one peep about the staggering pollution china produces, rather than berating western nations as the real problem. It's almost like she's a dumb kid with no perspective.

What did you mean then when you imply that some is good some is bad when you used the baby bathwater idiom. Because that's what it means, I assumed you were talking about China there.

What were you using to represent the baby, and what were you using as the bathwater? China and The West/US if you can please.

China has always operated to me as a corperation with a really good CEO.

And AFAIK when an awesome CEO is ever fired, the corporation tanks because it actually took a mind that knew how to spin all those plates they've been spinning with such success, so they could thread all the needles he's threading. And the replacement minds never can seem to catch up with that 1 lucky/brilliant one.

So what I figure is China has about as long as Xi is alive to be crushing through their amazing growth and when he gone, they will stammer and stumble and not have the amazing run they've had for the last 20 years.

But that's just my opinion.
