I think most, though perhaps not all, LGBT people are just deeply confused and hurt by mainstream society and they turn to another society which they believe will be more accepting.

The annoying part is that they believe that the only solution to this is more government and/or rules that everyone must accept them, when in fact their problems are caused by a lack of community bonds caused by . . . more government.

No what they want is to be oppressors. They use victimization as a cry to garner support so they can gain special protections as a class. Then they apply inverse oppression. They want freedom to express themselves at literally anytime and place but if you express yourself well then you are a bigot and should be shut down (see calls for having people banned)

Thing about them and govt is they infiltrated gov(and the media) and changed it from the inside because they can hide who they are. It wasn't some populist movement that has given them anything unlike some other oppressed groups.
