I really can't say. Abacab was basically a nobody who trained EC tunnel to draw attention to himself. One time he pickpocketed Vox and another time he trained a Nagafen poopsock; I think those are the only times I actually saw him in game. He posted photos of himself and linked his band at one point. He's homely and scrawny, and his music lacked any semblance of skill. His boasting about where he lived and that he didn't have a job made it seem likely that he's a trust fund brat. That's really all I know about him.

The recent posts are consistent with his symptoms of narcissism, OCD, and an unjustified sense of importance, but that doesn't make him unusual here. It seems an odd coincidence that the new forum account showed up the same day I mentioned that it was fun to have bad guys like Abacab and Raren, but he could be one of those people who searches for his own name.

Yes, and they have made pretty decent money doing it. Not like millions of dollars like the WSOP players, but a few of the best players have made 300K+ over their magic pro days. They also get free air travel and appearance fees to locations all over the world, just for playing the game.

Don't try to fool anyone here please, there are less than 5 players in the 20 year history of the game who've made that much money in their entire professional 'careers' and it's taken them all well over a decade of consistently playing the game well.

Most of the 'professionals' don't even hit 10K in prizes a year (less than a rookie minor league baseball player makes) and wouldn't be able to afford to keep playing the game if not for the sponsors.

Hell, their MVP players aren't even proud of what they do. Look up John Finkel and how he refused to even tell his girlfriend how much he played the game and got dumped after she found out.
