He loves to walk all over it every time I'm trying to do something that requires accuracy in a game.

I think with the advent of computer gaming, The Cat Council decided that it is the feline perogative to interfere by getting on keyboards.

Mine do it sometimes as well. It gets annoying. And shooing them makes them do it more.

Back in the day, it used to be books and newspapers. Whatever dares to interfere with you giving them your attention needs to be disrupted.

I don't know what the fuck it is with cats and boxes but all of mine love it. My fattest cat thinks she can fit in a box for infant shoes, and she indeed gets into it.
