classic isn't 1 player in every zone thus yellow text makes it more classic by letting players get closer together
I've said this about 500 times on these forums but some people like to just continually ignore it anyway + pretend that classic Everquest was all about playing it solo in empty zones without interacting with other players.

here is the situation, especially true since this server doesn't show you who is in another zone on /who all

group A is camping the druid rings in lavastorm
group B ports in to go to sol B, gets ambushed by group A
yellow text starts showing up that there's a big fight in lavastorm
group C has been looking for pvp(harder to find it without /who showing where people are), and then knows it's going on in lavastorm
group C ports in, more pvp happens

i have never in my entire life heard anyone complain about YT revealing location in any of the iterations of PvP boxes that had it implemented

Oh i hope your life is longer than eqemu.. or even the 13 years of eq. ;-)

On a more serious note, most of those pvp boxes are gone now... for a number of reasons.

since the kunark comfirmation came lots of people are found in the good xp zones. Sure you can still find plenty of empty zones, but only if you wish to or if you play insane hours where pop can still drop to below 40.

His point was that anything driving players towards the same zones is going to have a positive effect on a server that currently has less players than # of total zones.

Just calling out "the good xp zones" (say KC, Seb, Dreadlands, Lake) would be cool.

YT (with location) and glocal OOC both indirectly support that very simple concept of getting players to interact with eachother in a "classic" way when you're working with no more than ~15% of the player volume of what the live servers had.

Was definitely kunark. Even before the exp bonus, pop was 100 players. Since exp bonus, its gone up what, maybe 10 players?
