To be fair:
1. It often does mean something...within the gaming community. Particularly the community for the game in question. Going around and flaunting that at a job interview or on a date, on the other hand, is indeed stupid.

2. There's nothing wrong with being nerdy. :P It's a personality trait, a harmless one at that. Everyone is entitled to be whatever they want to be.

I do agree though, the fights are getting ridiculously out of hand.
