The need it to have a chance of successfully finding a group folks have good points. The omfg no the spamtards will ruin everything in 4 mins folks have a point as well.

How about.. Global OOC but you can only type in it once a minute.

To lazy to read all the posts, so not sure if someone had mentioned. You could just enable chat channels. This way both parties could win. No global Ooc and people who want to join the lfg chat can.
