Discovery is taking a winter hiatus and resuming season 1 in January. WTF? Now it feels like they're just trying to drag out subscriptions... The storyline is good so far at least.

They still have episodes on Nov 5th and 12th, but then after that is a break.

Yeah, I wasn't too clear on that point. I posted right after I finished last night's episode and heard them say there was a finale next week and resuming season 1 in January. Last night's already felt like a cliffhanger, so I'm sure next week's will be infuriatingly so...

Next episode looks interesting for sure. You might be right about the cliffhanger, especially since it's only a mid-season finale.

I'm actually 2 or 3 episodes behind on Orville now, while I'm still waiting Discovery right after it airs. Enjoying the latter more atm. I think it's because I get more into it knowing that it's suppose to be taken seriously, while Orville is more of a comedy even though it has it's seriousness.

I'll probably catch up on it during my flight tomorrow.

Watching Mud hold the bridge hostage, in the extremely tropy episode 6. I couldnt help but wonder why nobody else realied if they shot him in the hand while he held that dark mater it would create a chain reaction that would make him dissapear.

At least with orvile I know im watching a humorous show, but with this show I cant tell. But much of it is laughable.

Maybe they did in one of the (at least) 57 previous loops? Would've been nice to see more of his "fails" and hitting the reset button. The episode reminded me of doing Metroid speedruns and missing a jump and starting over to get those precious seconds back.

yeah, this show just bugs me because of its extremely obvious plot holes. Like, I expect that in Sliders, but not in star trek.

Altho its a pretty egregious plot hole to send the captain down on an away mission and not a seal team six crew. So what am I complaining about. The whole things a farce I guess. I need to just enjoy it.
