The main thing they could do is add boxing so guilds can actually have clerics to raid with, and support classes to play with.

EQ without a population makes it unplayable, and no one wants to play those classes on PVP.

All other ideas are a waste of time and just preference tweaks.

Why the devs won't release a fresh box now that all the coding and timeline are correct is beyond me.

Like you did all the hard work now just hit the reset button and watch it flourish.

Wipe isn't necessary just make a new box on classic timeline and merge them a year into velious.

I would pay server costs for a year for that without hesitation.

They could give source out, but they won't. Could do a new server on progression with current changes but they wouldn't. Leave everything alone stop thinking they will wipe either server. Only chance there is would be free blue to red xfers for all with limited plat or droppables per person maybe not even.

there's not much source that needs to be released resist code (which is not classic and needs redone anyway) + classic UI + classic database that's already out there. leaked like 3x (quests, mobs, spawns). not to mention almost all the classic pre-kunark data is easily mined off wiki

like most of the melee dmg dodge ac stuff is still not right and backported anyway into the main emusource, prob just needs to be toggled with a cvar

Someone donate me some server hardware or give me access to hosting so that I can put up a PoP-era PVP server.

I've always been jaded about the fact that I wanted classic PVP because I played on RZ back in '99 and had a fucking blast, but that's because the community was much better, interactions with other players was nicer, and the game was still fresh in that the average player wasn't a min/maxer. It was fun back then. It's not any more.

At least PoP-era had tons of content to work on for raiding guilds to keep the hardcore players interested, as well as AA's to keep everyone down to the lowly casuals grouping and soloing to continually better themselves after hitting max level. And I don't give a fuck what you have to say about the Plane of Knowledge. Having the PoK books around the world gave everyone much easier access to finding pvp.

*shrug* I think it'd be a blast.

Nowadays you can get a VPS sufficient to run an EQEmu server for about 100 concurrent players for something like $20 / month.

Matter of fact if you know what you are doing, signing up for a VPS, tweaking it a little, installing and configuring EQEmu, populating the database and doing some basic tuning and have the server running could take you .. oh, maybe 4 hours.

You can start working on it right now.
