Dunno for sure, but let's say they did ban the forum account: the RMTer could just start a new one. A forum account isn't like a game account (the only thing they have to lose is a post count, no gear/exp/faction), so there is basically no benefit to making them do that, and it would require more work for the GMs.

Plus I suppose there's a nice aspect to letting "killed off" players haunt the forums and serve as an example to new players of what not to do.

Just FYI to all of those who may be considering RMT.

If you do RMT, you better file your gains. It is considered income. Back in 2004 I used to ferry money using Sony's "Legends" server basically using it as a ForEX market.

I ended up making enough in about 9 months to buy my first car and store a large chunk of change to pay for college.

Being 17 I wasn't really used to the idea of 'taxes' because previous to this my positions had been 'lawn cutter' and a lifeguard gig that paid $5.80 an hour.

It backfired pretty badly because my father was a sole proprietor of his own company and wound up undergoing an audit. Since I was technically his dependent at the time they ended up uncovering that I had made this sum of money that no one had paid taxes on, and it blew up as a whole ordeal that we basically got out of because I was a minor at the time.

If I had been 18, apparently it would have been tax evasion... so... you know, be safe.

Also inb4 RMT scum it was 10 years ago.
