By the way.
Heartbrand's system works. It's entirely up to the guild to help each other succeed (the guild has to help itself succeed, imagine that). If you help the guild, you will be OBJECTIVELY rewarded for it when the pixel plate comes around. Given the lack of item looting he has done (dude passed up Vibrating gauntlets when he has a cleric, seriously now... thats probably worth 900k+ blue at a 3:1 rate) and the hours invested on a character that doesn't need gear in this expansion, if Red Dawn does fail or has to resort to jointly raiding with another guild because it isn't strong enough... its the MEMBERS of Red Dawn's fault at this point... not Heartbrand's. If he had any plans of doing the big dirty, those gauntlets from Chardok would have ten fold beat out anything he had planned on stealing. In fact, if you're going to buy the "Heartbrand will eventually betray us!" shit... what's in the guild bank for him to steal now? What has he handed out? Do you really agree with him trading a wind striker for that many epics? Was Quiet really someone who wasn't loot obsessed and "help the guild" oriented? It's up to you to either build the guild, make the hard decisions, put the effort in and succeed... or fail. You can't blame Heartbrand at this point. I see a lot of winning done as far as a growing guild for Red Dawn and people who don't want to get with the program will have to go by the way side. If you're rustled about a lack of pixels, try and understand on live everyone didn't have fucking Crown of Rile, and an epic on their troll SK alt. If you can't see the point of power leveling guildies as a way to work towards getting raid items, or making (at least) a temporary "non kos" agreement with the Duke while you are trying to build up.... I gotta ask, how the fuck else do you think you are going to get ahead on a 150 person box? I always thought it was funny seeing the 60 cleric crying about how his guild wasn't doing VP or helping him with his epic, but at the same time he couldn't be bothered to group with lvl 51-53s in his guild. Again, how do you think this whole thing works? Everyone else has to solo to 60 and better hurry up doing it because you need your epic? When you guys learn to put the team first, you'll have guilds finally strong enough where the Duke may even say "these guys have our numbers and dedication, we're just going to split spawns with them and work things out". Back on blue TMO had a thing where they would honestly say if you earn the right to splitting a mob with us, we will do it (provided you don't talk shit every single day in games/after contested mobs are slain). Seeing as the Duke has taken many a page from the blue server play book (it works), if you guys keep your shit together you might eventually have a 2 fully fledged raid guild server with a third wheel that just wants to be self centered, blame everything else for its problems and KOS everyone. Hell, in Velious it could become 4 guilds. I would challenge EVERYONE in Red Dawn right now to forget about items for their character and think more about what they can do to get everyone lvl 60 with their full spell book before they think about weapons with particle effects or VP. On another note, I'm hearing a lot of great things about the Duke second hand atm. Cannot speak more highly of a guild leader who helps get a pal like Gyno back on his feet or is turning over a new leaf to encourage server growth (being in top recruiting position... you may want to grow the server). This does not apply to most people in his guild, who could learn a thing or two about sportsmanship AKA: -not throwing lvl 60s into the ban grinder that exist purely to grief others off the box (well 3 people quit over it, but I only lost 1 character! time to heat up some more Obama-hot-pockets and make another 60 rogue!). -not taking items off banned accounts and playing dumb about it to the staff -not spending their entire day in city of mist sun striking (or otherwise) unguilded people (its fine for contesting a camp, but being such a talentless fool you have to resort to that .... seriously) -spamming bat phones over frivolous stolen items when your guild is full of people who have stolen items and has the ability to EASILY get any pixel in the game Quiet, after Nihilum turns you away because you can't make the 6am raid times or aren't as dedicated as you think you are, have a think about how you're trying to start a bandwagon that is damaging the guild with easily the most fair loot system that will take on new players and reward veterans for helping them. Then? Go read the post where you freaked out about some other sky item or how much Heartbrand helped an extremely non essential raid class for NO REWARD OF HIS OWN. Quiet, I think you're also the guy that complained that someone else spent a ton of time farming items/helping the guild but you deserved some item more? If I'm in Heartbrand's corner, I'd say he should have cut his losses earlier. Can you make up for it? Maybe, sure. Will you change? Nah. Red Dawn has a much better chance of getting more wind striker's than it does getting a bard epic. Hell, Red Dawn might as well set up business as a guild that trades Wind Strikers for other raid loot. | ||
