Physical currency is never going away. Bitcoins will never be more than 2% novelty currency like credit card reward points.

It's also causing graphics cards to increase in price because of "mining friendly" bullshit that 2% of video card users do.

I doubt anyone is mining bitcoins effectively with GPU's anymore.....
