Dont like the name then just fucking /ignore the person and move on.
Dont like surnames then guess what, /showname 1.

"Name cant be a phrase..." Most RP names or names from middle ages which comprise the Fantasy MMO name set were phrases. People would use the location the grew up in, the trade they practiced and any number of other things as part of their name.

Some of this rational is retarded. I bet you would object to my paladins surname of "Cryptwalker" which I would retort with, I am a fucking paladin tasked with destroying the undead from these cursed graveyards and battle field crypts.

You sound like you belong in some second rate communist country you control freak.

No. I should not have to make changes on my end just to accommodate people with offensive names. I want to see most names and surnames -- the players who insist on being offensive with their choices should be the ones that are required to make changes, not the ones with a bit of maturity.

I think you're misunderstanding what a "phrase" is. No, I don't think there's any problem with "Cryptwalker" and I think 95% of players would agree. But that's just it -- it's not a phrase.

"Show me the money" is a popular phrase, ergo, "Showme Themoney" should not be an acceptable name. Quite a bit different than a surname of Cryptwalker. Edit: and though I'm not crazy about "Showme Themoney" as a potential name, I wouldn't report it. It's still a far cry from juvenile garbage like "Fore Skin".

Surnames like Fallenleaf for a druid, would be totally legit.
Bearpaw for a shaman is also totally legit and 100% fits in the spirit or EQ and fantasy RPG's in general. Do you actually think tribal names didn't exist in the middle ages? And what does EQ have to do with Earth's middle ages anyway? I have never read this in any EQ manual. It's a completely different universe.

Bonebreaker, Melodious, Lightningrod, (just some random names) would also be legit fantasy based names or surnames.

You are completely misunderstanding what the naming policy is on live.

You would lose that bet. You'll notice there are no surnames which would fall under the same category as yours on the list, descriptive surnames are fine if they're not juvenile or assisting the first name in some kind of phrase.

I am curious about that post, because the impression I am getting is that since you are offended, everyone else needs to bend to your wishes. I hate to say this, but if a simple name causes you so much grief, you may want to consider playing in a more tightly controlled sandbox.

Nor are you paying a subscription fee to play here. I think I can understand where you are coming from, but I can't agree with why you are doing it. It seems like this is more of a "This is MY experience everyone else is ruining" sense of entitlement. Well, in a way it is a collective experience and not just here to cater to your whims. Yes yes, some names are just plain vulgar and whatever, but honestly, you should just /ignore and /showname 1 .

That takes considerably less administrative effort than asking already busy people to run at your beck and call to change a name that only you seem to be offended by. You should really consider seeing someone about your control issues. IMO, a person who is so tightly-wound and controlling in a game may not have control in some arena of their own life and may need some counseling. Get help...If not for your sake, at least do it for the community.
