I am disagreeing with you. There is no need to monopolize old content. We will be quite busy with the new content. Tons of raids, grouping, leveling new characters and lots of quests/faction grinding to do.

its way too late in the game for there to ever be a significant change in the way raiding operates on p99. neither velious nor the supposed removal of variance will fix it. TMO simply has to firm of a grip on the server. they have had 2 years to prepare for velious, the second of which has been almost entirely free from competition. when it finally drops TMO's zerg army is going to come down on it like the hand of god himself. but dont think for a minute that will cause them to lessen the grip on the old world targets, as it stands there is not a single that could even step foot in VP and TMO is going to keep it that way until velious drops. that way, even when velious does spread out their force the other guilds are still going to have kunark content they have to get through before they can even hope to compete with tmo on velious. in essence this will give them free reign of velious until another guild can catch up, but by that point they will already be secure enough in their position that we will be right back where we are now. so really, unless you enjoy shitting in socks and waking up at 3am to try and compete with the TMO zerg there is no point in trying to raid here. it will always lead to disappointment, ya sure your guild might knock off a dragon here and there but TMO will always control 90% content

TL;DR? if you want to raid stress free join TMO, otherwise move on or dont raid

Velious is gear progression.

Does VP gear help? Some, but you do not need it to win Velious encounters.

Want to unseat TMO?

Be better, thats about it. The playing field is leveled in Velious because you are basically starting from scratch (minus epics).

When Velious comes out you won't have anything to cry about if you aren't getting any raid mobs, you are just bad.
